A Welcome Return to Litchfield
TheMrAdriaX17 June 2016
Bombastically hilarious is what I would describe the first acting minutes of Season 4. Charismatic characters and witty dialogue help keep us refreshed to what was left off on this show. However, the series also lay some important ground work for future events, and right off the bat, albeit its comedic first note, Season 4 will definitely be the most darkest Season of this series yet.

While the episode does return with our beloved inmates, new faces also arise to bring more trouble to the already crippled Prison of Litchfield. Hopefully dynamic interactions between these characters and the ones we have come to know will occur later on.

However some parts of the episode does stumble to drawn out scenes, but overall a solid starting push in the right direction for Season 4 in recovery from the mediocre Season 3. Hopefully it remains consistent throughout.

Funny, so funny, but horrible.

Season 4 gets off to a great start with no annoying backstories getting in the way of all the funny, moving and dramatic happenings in Litchfield Prison itself. That's what I hated about Season 3. The way the show was moving back and forward, in and out of prison, disrupting the storyline into small disconnected segments that were hard to follow. Why does everyone hate Piper including apparently the show's producers? I know Chapman is self-possessed and self-delusional but I know plenty of people like that, the British Royal Family for instance. Taylor Schilling hardly made an appearance in this episode and I really missed her with her super expressive face. Chapmans story line seems to be in limbo at the moment. Is Schilling on holiday or something? In an episode with a lot of funny lines my favourite one comes after Lolly apparently kills Kubras hitman and Kubra demands proof of Alex's demise. So Lolly psyching up Alex for a photo by demanding "shirt up, bra down, floobies out, face slack, dead girl porn, Cosby dream shot". So cued into pop culture. Again I am deeply disturbed by the brutality and number of male guards in a woman's jail. The image of a six foot six bearded gorilla staring into the face of a diminutive Gina and demanding answers I find deeply disturbing, but that emotional churning is what OITNB is all about.

Orange is the New Black Season 4 Episode 1

Review : The episode is very simple but it's like putting a smile on people's face.

Acting : Fairly common.

Direction : Pretty fine.

Story : The author tries to make it ridiculous enough but no restraint is observed in the story to hold the viewer.

Dialogue : Very nice and awesome.

Background Score : Pretty fine.

Soundtrack : Good enough.

Cinematography : Pretty good.

Editing : Pretty good.

Lighting : Good.

Overall Episode : As a viewer I have no hesitation in giving the episode 9 out of ten stars judging by everything.

Unexpected Perfection

Up until this point I would say this is the best episode of OITNB I've seen. Intriguing and funny the whole time. Also a sense of intensity. Just a fantastic episode to start off the season. Damn I love this show so much
