Alf's storyline continues to shine, with another standout chat between him and Maria which is only marred by the inappropriate inclusion of Roo.The fact that Maria assures him they're not finished is promising, since this storyline deserves more.
The "Josh's party" storyline ends in a damp squib, with the possibility of exploring the Barretts' family being sidestepped in favour of a pep talk from Andy. There's some nice little cameos (Maddy's dancing is awesome) but the whole thing feels a bit pointless.
Brax's storyline continues to plummet new depths:By this point it's clear that Brax is sacrificing everything and everyone he's ever claimed to care about (Kyle, Ash, Ricky, Casey, Denny) just to escape. Ash's break-up with Denny is frustrating in the extreme and shows how promising new characters get sacrificed to shore up ones that are long past their best.
