As much as Sharon is very negligent especially of her son Denny, he still plans to meet up with granddad Gavin, even while Sharon is somewhat defending Bobby who attacked her son on Christmas Day the past year. Now after being Ian's mommy, Kathy catches sight of Gavin and Denny and with prying suspicions, she stalks, or follows, them.
Has no bed to sleep in, Ian has slept sideways on the sofa at Dot's, his mommy dearest Kathy wakes him up (like it's time for school), and the stupid talk about Bobby Ian has with Sharon, made too many excuses and what about Bobby beating up Dennis on Christmas?!! Ian very much rightly gives Bobby a deserved cold shoulder, thought he should have ripped up the Get Well card Bobby had for Jane.
As the episode ends, Kathy foolishly calls Lauren and assumes she's coming back with Peter. Ian is so goofily cheerful seeing Lauren and Louie have arrived and assumes Peter has as well, predictably (as Bobby killed Lucy) and unfortunately no, Peter's deranged half-brother Steven has instead. It's like the situation for Ian is going out of the frying pan and into the fire.
