“House of the Dragon” Releases Dueling Season 2 Trailers
Are you Team Green or Team Black?
HBO has released two new trailers for the upcoming second season of its “Game of Thrones” spinoff series “House of the Dragon.”
The new trailers, which set the series’ return on the cabler and Max late this spring, respectively focus on Princess Rhaenrya Targaryen (played by Emma D’Arcy), Prince Daemon (Matt Smith), and their black faction, and on Alicent Hightower’s (Olivia Cooke) green King’s Landing team of Alicent.
The fantasy drama series, based on author George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood,” details the history of House Targaryen nearly 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones.” Season 1 followed Rhaenyra in her fight to be named the chosen heir of King Viserys I (Patty Considine) and the lead-up to the Dance of the Dragons.

Dominique Fishback holds her own opposite Samuel L. So therefore, I’m not gonna do that because I’m representing this character.”
On this edition of the Variety Awards Circuit podcast, Fishback talks about “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey,” and working with Jackson, as well as her take on the character, playing teenage roles even as she enters her 30s, her interest in astrology and how she’s enjoying her success. Later in this episode, “Mr. Mayor” star Bobby Moynihan on the joys of his ensemble comedy, which sadly was just canceled on Thursday as this episode made it to air.

The way it managed to balance the comedy and melancholy of the series with its absolutely riveting message is one that’ll speak to generations to come. We got a chance to speak with Daniel Chong about the film when it came out but there’s even more We Bare Bears: The Movie behind-the-scenes content that’s coming soon!
The movie will hit DVD on September 8, 2020 and will be stacked (in true We Bare Bears fashion) with a commentary track, the movie pitch, deleted scenes, and more! Cartoon Network was kind enough to give us a first look at a section of one of those bonus features, the movie pitch! Tom Ascheim, President of Warner Bros’ recently formed Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics division, is realigning its executive ranks at Warner Bros Animation and Cartoon Network Studios.
Warner Bros Animation President Sam Register is expanding his responsibilities, adding oversight of Cartoon Network Studios to his purview, reporting to Ascheim. With Register’s promotion, Cartoon Network’s chief content officer Rob Sorcher, who served as head of Cartoon Network Studios, will segue into an overall production deal with Warner Bros Television Group, where he’ll create both animated and live-action properties.
Taking over Sorcher’s Cartoon Network programming oversight responsibilities on an interim basis is former Nickelodeon and Universal Kids executive Amy Friedman, who has been brought in as a senior advisor. Reporting to Ascheim, Friedman will provide creative, strategic and inclusive programming guidance for the Cartoon Network brand.

This article contains spoilers for We Bare Bears: The Movie.
Back in 2016 just after the election of Donald Trump, We Bare Bears creator Daniel Chong posted a message about how the series is an allegory for what it feels like to be a minority in America. Many had questioned why the Bears in the series were treated so poorly and Chong answered, “as an Asian American, sometimes individuals are treated unfairly for no other reason than looking different.”
Chong admits that the allegory was “a little too heavy for an 11 minute (show.)” However, with the recent release of We Bare Bears: The Movie, Chong and the rest of the crew were finally given the time to tread deeper into what the show was really all about.

This We Bare Bears: The Movie interview contains spoilers.
We Bare Bears: The Movie is the perfect send off to the loveable Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear that have been warming hearts on Cartoon Network since 2015. Their last adventure sees them going up against their own right to simply exist in the world as the government tries to capture them. The story is not only relevant to our times (where racism continues to show its ugly face) but also contains the melancholy that made We Bare Bears such a warm show alongside its trademark humor. It’s truly a special film that does the herculean task of wrapping up a long running series, commenting on the world, and just being the fun we need while going through dark times.
We spoke with show creator Daniel Chong for an in-depth discussion about the making of the film from its original conception...

Back in 2018 a fan of the K-pop group Monsta X tweeted at We Bare Bears creator Daniel Chong that if he ever featured a K-pop group on the show he hoped it would be Monsta X. Considering that the show has done several references to K-pop in the past, Chong simply replied with, “i’ll see what I can do.”
Little that did that random fan know he had just set something powerful in motion.
A year later Monsta X appeared as themselves on the final episode of We Bare Bears season 4 and the fandom around the band exploded. Their favorite boys were animated! Chong’s tweets about the episode spread through the internet like wildfire. The plot of the episode followed Grizz and Ice Bear trying to get their brother Panda to meet the band, which he loves, but hijinks get in the way

When I sat down to watch the We Bare Bears movie I was expecting it to be a light and fun beacon of hope in these dark times. The show has always been that, with the wacky antics of the bears a constant source of comfort. I got that sure, but what I was surprised and delighted by was how much the central message of the series was brought to the forefront to tremendous and incredibly relevant effect.
To put it simply, I didn’t expect the We Bare Bears movie to take on prejudice and intolerance and do it in such a big way. The show has always been diverse and its central message has been about the need to fit in and belong but this took it to another level. It isn’t just some fun jokes about the bears being inept at trying to fit in; its...

Ice Bear has waited long for this news. After being announced last year, we finally have a trailer and release date for We Bare Bears The Movie! Based on the popular Cartoon Network series of the same name, the movie is set to take the bears on their biggest adventure yet while also answering one of the biggest questions of the series.
How did the bears first meet?
It also asks a question we hadn’t wondered but now must know the answer to. What will the bears do when they reach Canada?
We got the announcement first in this delightful video introduced by the We Bare Bears cast video conferencing each other.
Stick around for the whole video because the second half features the trailer for the movie! The film looks to follow the bears escaping from the law and fleeing to Canada to find refuge. It looks to...

We Bare Bears is definitely one of those cartoons you’d look at and go ‘awww’ largely because it’s about three bears, all of different species, who have somehow found each other and have banded together to form a family unit. If there was anything else you needed to feel the inclusive nature of this show then you might not be fully aware of your surroundings since the familial unit, the differences each one of them possess, and the difficulties they have integrating into society throughout the course of the show is enough to make it clear and concise that there

The cult hit Cartoon Network series “Adventure Time” ran for a whopping 10 seasons totaling 280 episodes from 2010 up until its series finale episode on Monday. But now it could get a farewell hug from the Emmys just days after its swan song. It’s the front-runner to win Best Short Form Animated Program at the Creative Arts Awards, which will be handed out during two ceremonies held over the weekend.
The series followed the adventures of Finn and his dog Jake in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo, and it has already won Best Short Form Animated Program twice, in 2015 and 2017. It’s one of only three shows, along with “Robot Chicken” and “Mickey Mouse” that have won the award multiple times since the category was established in 2008, so a third victory for “Adventure Time” would break that three-way tie.

“Steven Universe” fans recently cheered at a wedding kiss between two female characters, the latest example of how the Cartoon Network series has broken new ground for its frank portrayal of sexuality and gender identity in children’s programming.
Since its premiere in 2013 on Cartoon Network, the show has wielded zany comedy, drama, and visual metaphors to teach its children—and adult—viewers that identity isn’t chained to heteronormativity. Inspired by creator Rebecca Sugar’s experience with her bisexuality and feminism, “Steven Universe” has been championing Lgbtq visibility for five seasons.
The same-sex relationship between Ruby and Sapphire, from an onscreen marriage proposal to an uncensored lip-to-lip kiss, led to some earth-shattering milestones of Lgbtq visibility in kids’ shows. But the kiss and wedding were not the only instances of queer expression in “Steven Universe.”

Lorne Michaels continues to pull ahead with the most Emmy nominations in history for an individual. The “Saturday Night Live” creator and executive producer added a writing nomination to his tally in 2018, bringing his total to 82 — ahead of now-retired HBO documentary maven Sheila Nevins, who’s in second place with 76.
Nevins is still the person with the most Emmys won as an individual in history, at 30.
Speaking of Michaels, it was another stellar season for “Saturday Night Live,” which increased its total Emmy nominations to 252 (adding 21 more this year). But the big change in 2018 is for second place: The return of “Game of Thrones” netted 22 nominations for the HBO series, bringing its total haul over seven seasons to 129. That puts it ahead of long-time leader “ER,” which amassed 124 nominations over its 15 seasons, and now drops to third.
