No to popcorn, the tinkle can wait, and no aimless scrolling through tik toc. This sentiment doesn’t come around that often so when it does, you take the time to ensure your phone is on do not disturb – check, favorite pjs on- check, lastly and this one is big, no one is allowed in your universe that would even think about talking during the next fifty minutes of programming, because this is serious! Craftspeople rarely get the spotlight that actors and directors get. However, Donald Mowat is not like most craftspeople. Over the past ten years, Mowat’s career put him at the center of some of Hollywood’s very best movies. After working on Dune, Blade Runner 2049, and Nightcrawler, Mowat kept his options open.
A long-time collaboration with Jake Gyllenhaal led to Presumed Innocent, allowing Mowat to dive into unique makeup effects with an all-star cast. The resulting series highlights much of what Mowat has to offer, and the Oscar-nominated makeup designer takes full advantage over the series. With the finale this week, Mowat sat down with FandomWire to discuss his work. This interview was completed prior to the announcement that Presumed Innocent will have a second season. Check out our review of the season here.

Order! Order! Apple TV+ has put in an order... for a second series of its critically acclaimed legal drama Presumed Innocent, the platform's most watched drama to date. As confirmed by the streaming giant themselves ahead of the first season's upcoming 24 July finale, David E. Kelley's (Anatomy Of A Scandal) show — based on author Scott Turow's bestselling book — will return for a new run run of episodes centring around a brand new case. J.J. Abrams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel Rusch Rich, Dustin Thomason, and Matthew Tinker are all set to return as executive producers alongside Kelley and Turow, though it remains to be seen whether Gyllenhaal, who also stars in the first series, will be back on screen too next time around.
Previously adapted as an Alan J. Pakula (All The President's Men) movie starring Harrison Ford back in 1990, Presumed Innocent follows Chicago chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich (Gyllenhaal...

Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent has rebooted the 1990 film starring Harrison Ford, based on Scott Turow’s best-selling novel to include more female-forward characters and roles as well as a more diverse cast and updated themes.
The TV series includes many of the same characters from the film adaptation, but it also introduces some new ones, and there are offscreen connections between some of the cast as well.
Read on to see who has been cast in David E. Kelley’s updated television version of the 1987 novel.

Is Rusty Sabich guilty of the murder of his former mistress Carolyn, or is he, as was once written about Congressman Gary Condit, “the Unluckiest Adulterer Who Ever Lived”?
Through three episodes, that appears to be the central question of the Apple TV+ version of Presumed Innocent. I predict the series will debate that question quite a few times.
Rusty (Jake Gyllenhaal) is unquestionably guilty of adultery, dishonesty, and various degrees of unethical and unsavory personal and professional behavior. But is he a murderer?
The third episode of the series, "Discovery," does not bring us much further towards resolving that question.
And it also starts to raise doubts over whether it was wise to stretch this mystery -- previously a novel and then a feature film -- into an eight-part mini-series. After all, there can only be so many red herrings.

This crime thriller features magnificent twists and turns and two powerful performances by Academy Award nominees Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Negga.

Another legal drama is coming to our screens this summer, and this time, Jake Gyllenhaal is taking the lead.
While there's no shortage of legal and crime dramas, we certainly aren't going to complain about another series joining the roster.
As far as Apple TV+'s Presumed Innocent goes, we're excited to see what this drama will bring us this summer.
