Often the storyline is token pretense for sex in these modern lesbian romances but GHOST STORIES develops a gripping narrative without sacrificing its Prime Directive of hot sex.
It's also unusual in being populated exclusively with young actresses, in a genre where "older/younger" couplings seems nearly mandatory.
Superstars Riley Reid and Casey Calvert are staying in a spooky house, and similar to CANDYMAN, when Penny's name is said three times she materializes as a ghost in the form of Penny Pax. This is house is for sale, and after Reid and Casey make love they call in a non-sectarian exorcist, young Jessie Andrews to rid the place of ghosts.
There is much joking and punning relating the ghostly phenomena to lesbianism, as in a dangerous presence known as a "gwitch" living In The Closet. Without giving away too many excellent plot twists and turns, it becomes clear that not every girl is what she seems to be, and elaborate and deadly schemes are being carried out.
Some twelve years late the unlikely duo of Natalia Starr and Presley Heart are searching the abandoned (but oddly seeming to be still inhabited) mansion with video camera in hand when they also encounter ghosts and an orgy occurs. Maddy O'Reilly and Odette Delacroix are the phantoms and by the time everyone has had sex, and rituals are observed the feature's mysteries are tied up rather neatly.
I enjoyed the anonymous Girlfriends filmmakers' use of tongue-in-cheek dialog but a rather serious tone, so that the video can be enjoyed on several different levels. Excellent casting of such attractive and popular talent puts this one over and I hope the series, currently numbering three volumes, will continue.
