The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is stabbed with a deer antler. Blood quickly appears on his clothes.
  • A man blows his head off with a shotgun. Very brief and hard to make out.
  • A man headlocks another man until he stabs him in the leg (blood is seen). He's then stomped on the head three times. Offscreen. We hear a loud crunch on the third stomp.
  • A man is stabbed through his hand with a letter opener, he doesn't feel any pain.
  • A woman is stabbed with a letter opener.
  • A woman deliberately runs into a moving car. Her unconscious body is placed in the car but she awakens and forces the car to crash. Her dead body is shown after and the main character is shown with some blood on him. This is used more as a jump scare than a gory moment.
  • A woman is shot in the abdomen, blood soaks up her blouse.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The whole story revolves around a family/cult that uses their daughter to lure African American males by pretending to be their girlfriend, so that they can be hypnotized, and have the brains of the family's oldest relatives placed into their bodies, allowing them to live longer and to have better physicality. There are also several elements of slavery and racism that are interlaced with the story as well.
  • There's one scene where a woman hypnotizes a man, he is completely paralyzed, and imagines he is in a dark everlasting void and has flashbacks of the night his mother died, he is also crying in this scene.
