Maalai Naerathu Mayakkam lacks Selvaraghavan's magic.

Maalai Naerathu Mayakkam fails in the emotional and real life relational scope where 7G Rainbow Colony and Mayakkam Enna won our hearts...

Not sure the film was written by Selvaraghavan like this or the film lost its essence midway from script to screen transition. Right from the start the film is too dramatic, artificial and for a emotional film like this, you have nothing much to take from the acting nor the scenes (The climax is an exception) Wamiqa Gabbi turns out to be the perfect Selvaraghavan film heroin and this girl seems to be immensely talented and probably the life savior of the film.

I hate this rape apology movies. Rapes don't happen because of unawareness or intoxication. It happens because the rapists can't keep it in their pants and they are one among the worst people on earth.

Please stop romanticizing toxic relationships and heinous crimes.

"Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam" a fantastic new flick from Selvaraghavan
unspeakableunnameable1 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It's been a while since we were all treated with a Selvaraghavan flick. So quite naturally, Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam had managed to create decent buzz prior to its release, I thought the film is blessed only with Selvaraghavan's writing , But I could see his style in every frame from every actor's performance to execution.

I checked the reviews before I watch the movie. Ibntimes , critic boards and other top review boards have given positive reviews for the movie which raised my interest in watching this movie and am happy after watching it.. "Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam" features Balakrishna Kola and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles.

The film explores the love story that takes place in the life of a married couple. The film centers about Manoja (Wamiqa Gabbi), an independent and bold woman, and Prabhu (Balakrishna Kola), an old- fashioned guy, who are brought together in an arranged marriage. How the two contrasting characters bond forms the rest of the story. The result of this is both riveting and fascinating.

The movie has Amrit's music. The film will have the most romantic musics by debut music director Amrit , which is going to stay on your personal players for long time. Cinematography and editing – Sridhar and Rukesh, both together gave a good feel.

Director of photography, Sridhar's Color scheme is vivid to say the least, glowing in saturated reds and greens with accents of blue and yellow through out the film. It's beautifully executed and works hand-in-hand with plot and tone, putting us in a warm world when appropriate, then shifting to a cooler look as the emotional emphasis shifts. Sridhar's visuals are more Theme and tone driven than texture driven that externalizes the emotions of the characters all the way.

While its a known fact that we can expect a very nice story from the ace director, I would sure give an applause for the performance of the heroine of this film, Wamiqa is not just another North-Indian import. If everything goes well with the actress, she is bound to make use of her beauty and talent to fetch bigger roles and films.

A fairly simple story with moments to cherish and performance to be adored, MNM is a new-age film with Selva's hard-hitting nuances and blatant pragmatism. It is because of your hypocrisy getting testified, MNM earns a watch. Selvaraghavan's writing , Gitanjali Selvaraghavan's direction, Wamiqa's performance, Sridhar's cinematography and Vasanth Rukesh's editing along with UJ Murugan's art direction give us a colorful emotional blend to watch on the screen. Gitanjali's ability to concise Selva's deep emotions into a film needs praise.

'Awful' doesn't cover it.

Warning: Spoilers
I have just one question to the supposed 'artistic' genius of Tamil Cinema. Of all the decent humans in this world, why does your heroine HAVE to fall for her rapist ????

Seriously, though are you a rape apologist, Mr.Selvaraghavan ? Or are you a pervert who fetishes rape as some sort of romantic interlude ?? How can you imagine that it is possible for a rape survivor to think of his/her assailant with anything else but disgust and anger and/or fear ? Extremely disappointed in you. In Tamil government's censor board. In Tamil cinema as a whole. The Tamil cinema has been running on a staple of violence being portrayed as romance for a long time now. But this one takes the cake. Why, you ask ? Because its 2016 and one of the most promising directors of our Cinema is dealing the same garble out as art.

Pearls only have seen inside the deep ocean. One of the best movie from selvaraghavan. Must watch movie for the youngsters who not even speak to girls other than sisters and mothers before enters into a marriage life. The great thing is you should learn to forget the loved ones whose mistakes at any extent thats called trie love. Forget the past love your life, forgive the peraon who accept their mistakes that's the true meaning of life. Other than the movie aspect all actors done good job. Excelllent act from the lead role male and female. Music is one of the boost to this film nailed it on the climax song Don't miss if you are a cinema lover.
