Speechless and spellbound!
me_theuninvited21 May 2016
Oh My God. Where do I begin? Where do I end? What a terrific episode. I'm not going to put a single thing about what happened in this episode because you need to experience it yourself. What a great, great show! It's been over 8 hours since I saw the episode and my mind is still wrapped around it. So, so intense. Connects the dots so well. It was like going back to season 1. This is Orphan Black at it's best. And I think it's said there too much, but Tatiana Maslany. My God! You know, I think they should re write the meaning of Actor in the dictionary. They should write TATIANA MASLANY in capitals. Because she is, right now, the best actress on Television. It isn't said enough! Emmy people, hope you're watching this.

Marvelously tense and unpredictable with a stunning ending Warning: Spoilers
I couldn't move for a good couple of minutes after this ended. I had to take the time to process it. To sort it all out in my brain. That's how I know when an episode is truly a masterwork; when I can't move on right after I've finished watching it. Well, this episode is certainly that, and one of the show's best episodes.

In most episodes of Orphan Black, most of the clones appear, but their stories don't tie directly in with each other. We will follow one for a while, then another, then another. Like Game of Thrones. That's why it's so exhilarating when the rare episode comes along like this one or last week's instalment in which all the story lines revolve around one central plot. It provides a sense of clarity and eventfulness.

Clone Club negotiates a deal with Susan and Neolution, and most of the characters are involved in the execution of this trade. This leads to a very tense second half of the episode that really keeps you guessing as to who is doing what, why they are doing it, and what will happen next.

The Beth flashbacks finally came to a conclusion, and it was a tear-jerker. I was surprised by the way that the Beth flashbacks ran parallel very smoothly to the rest of the episode. It even ended up tying into the episode's main plot twist.

The only plot in this episode that wasn't directly involved in the central trading plot was Krystal's. It gave Art and Felix something to do, and also provided some of the only humour in this episode.

This is one of Orphan Black's best episodes. It unifies the plots in a way not common in this show. It features a great deal of tension and a touch of humour. The ending is a stunner.

It was like watching the Pilot all over again without knowing what will happen
bballtab1019 May 2016
All of the magic of season one, the suspense, the horror, the fear, the unpredictability, it is all here in this episode. The acting is absolutely superb. The subtle comedy we get with Felix, Art, and Krystal was absolutely perfect, not too corny, and relevant enough to the plot line. And of course Tat absolutely kills it once again. Cosima's emotions this episode were heartbreaking to watch. This episode left me gaping at the screen with my jaw open, shaking my head, and thinking "please no please no" to myself My only complaint is having to wait a week until the next one. Thank goodness this is only a little past halfway through the season.

Shockingly heartbreaking

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is definitely Orphan Black at its best. Everything was perfect. Acting is top notch. You can't even tell that half the rolls are being played by one actor. They all have their own person. Seriously, there's a huge difference between Krystal and Alison (which have the same personalities). I don't know why award guys don't see this show. But not just acting, the story was mind blowing too. I took some time to process what really happened in the end. You don't see such great stories and breathtaking twists much nowadays. *SPOILER ALERT* Notice that Sarah destroyed the last piece of sample by purpose, not knowing that it's the only thing they have. She's going to regret that later for sure. *SPOILER FROM GAME OF THRONES* I watched this episode after watching GOT S06E05, which reveals the roots of HODOR. OU MY GOD, series are on fire right now.

A gripping and heart wrenching episode
DVD_Connoisseur3 March 2019
Despite a measured and relatively calm start, this episode slips into top gear for the final 20 minutes. This is a heart wrenching, hard hitting episode which will leave the viewer stunned at developments. The episode has a season finale feel to it, such is the atmosphere and the beautiful closing scene.

Just when you thought everything was coming together, the Big Bad lurking in the shadows is biding its time to sweep the rug away from the heroes' collective feet.

[9.5] Beth - The most selfless clone
cjonesas31 July 2021
After my last episode review, in which I whined, I didn't expect such a masterpiece.

Imagine a stadium full of stellar Tatiana Maslany's clone characters fighting for the better good along with their bright supportive team against the evil presence and ugly domination of the Neolution, with an orchestra playing in the background.

Scene after scene, minute by minute, I saw the epilogue of Beth's life coming to a heartbreaking end, pieces of the puzzles mostly put together and Cosima's despair and tears washing all over me.

Kudos to the writers and Tania for bringing us such an amazing episode with the huge feel of a finale, sleek and bright up to the very last scene where I got dazzled by the blinding light.
