I had the pleasure of seeing Second Words at the LA Shorts Fest. It is a beautiful meditation on life and family. The director masterfully paces the film which creates the perfect atmosphere to compliment the tone of the story. John Beasley portrays a man who is coping with the passing of his wife. While pensive, he never overplays his character; opting for a subdued performance that peaks at all the right times. The film is sprinkled with beautiful shots of the surrounding farm-scape that wrap up the story in a neat little bow. The heartfelt story, along with the uplifting ending make this a great film that anyone should be able to enjoy.

The first temptation, after final credits, it is to define it as a great film.
And, indeed, it is a great one.
First, for splendid performance of John Beasley.
Second , for the history of meatloaf. Not the last, for the construction, scene by scene, of a moving, powerful, profound inspired story of reconciliation.
In essence, it is just a religious short film, about stubborn, forgiveness, refuge in grief, patience and the precise definition of true feelings.
So, a film who proposes, in beautiful - wise manner, selfreflection . A film for love it , for atmosphere and moral, for gentle exploration of loss and emptness after, for nice definition of oldness and loneliness and the things defining each of us.
