Sex & Nudity

  • Quite a few sexual references, but nothing too extreme.

Violence & Gore

  • A boy is stabbed in the hand with a pen. Only a few drips of (off-colored) blood are seen.

Profanity

  • A few instances of profanity here and there, but nothing serious.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Overall, Owarimonogatari is much, much tamer than other incarnations of the Monogatari series in terms of its violence and sexual scenes, however, its plot is often more disturbing than usual and the color scheme and editing give it a horror/psychological thriller vibe at times.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A boy's right arm is torn from his body. Blood is seen spraying out of the wound.
  • The last arc of season one is essentially the entire reason for why there is any sort of violence in the first place: a reincarnated man disintegrates into nothing, with screaming heard throughout (check the Frightening/Intense Scenes section for more information). A vampire consumes his corpse, with pink-colored blood seen around her mouth. Not graphic.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A reincarnated man disintegrates into nothing, and his screams of pain are heard through the process. This could be very emotional and unsettling to some.
  • The character of Sodachi has a very disturbing background (it is stated she was living with her mother's corpse for some time before leaving the house).
