Yvonne Carmichael is giving a speech to MPs where she meets a handsome, mature man of mystery, Mark Costley.
The sheer and utter brilliance of Emily Watson is evident from the first second she appears, don't get me wrong, the whole cast do a great job, but Watson truly is a class act, she is one of the absolute best.
It's a good first episode, it sets up the scene, and direction for the series. I remember from the first viewing, that this gets better and better with time.
This one offers up something of a morbid curiosity. The end of the episode features one upsetting scene, it's not pleasant.
One issue I had with this first part is the sound is a bit muffled at times.
You can't help but question what on Earth Yvonne is doing here, she's messing with a man she knows nothing about, taking all sorts of risks, but many do love a thrill.
Very dramatic. 7/10.
