The finale...kind of reminded me of the season 1 finale of Lethal Weapon
safenoe2 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Rush Hour deserved more than 1 season. It didn't even get a full season, but only 13 episodes. Perhaps Rush Hour can be revived following the success of the Lethal Weapon TV series.

Talking of which, The Big Reveal at the end of this episode reminded me of the series 1 finale of Lethal Weapon. In this Rush Hour episode, Dragon (played by legendary actor James Hong, who had the distinction of directing Shannon Tweed in the the movie Singapore Sling) revealed to Lee and his sister that he was responsible for the car accident death of their parents. Now this instantly reminded me of the end of series 1 of Lethal Weapon (which came after the Rush Hour TV series) where it was revealed Miranda (Riggs' wife) was murdered by a crime cartel in a car accident.

Anyway there's a lot of ethnic jokes and humorous ethnic references in Rush Hour. In episode 7 for instance you had the classic line from Carter..."Freakin' Australians!! Do you know they take all our movie roles? Russell Crowe, Chris Hemsworth." This is the first of many ethnic mis-references from James, as Russell Crowe is a New Zealander, not Australian. Also in that episode James makes Japanese references to his Chinese partner Jonathan Lee (played by Jon Foo),and Jonathan politely correctly corrects him, although Jonathan failed to recognize Russell is from New Zealand. Australians, New Zealanders...to some they all look alike I guess.

Toby Emmerich is an executive producer of this series. Toby's the brother of Noah "The Truman Show" Emmerich. I don't think they are related to Roland "Independence Day" Emmerich.

I hope really it's not too late to bring back Rush Hour. Please bring back Rush Hour!!!
