Hardly a sequel, more a redundant re-do

Warning: Spoilers
Zero Tolerance & director Mike Quasar followed up their successful BDSM lite video with a clunker merely capitalizing on it. I praised big Mike for the original, but must thrash him mightily for the lazy sequel.

That's the sign of a card-carrying hack -instead of expanding upon the interesting saga of Karlie (Karlie Montana), whose run-in with bondage romance author Roz Collins (Anthony Rosano) changed her life dramatically in Part 1, we have superstar Kendra Lust added to the cast, and mere repetition of the content.

SPOILER ALERT:

Directing hundreds (thousands if you count like Adult industry types in terms of individual scenes) of gonzo efforts in recent years has clearly put Quasarman in a rut. Part 1 concerned Karlie's search for the elusive author, and the consequences of finding him; so for Part 2 he merely had journalist Kendra searching for him and finding his amanuensis Karlie instead, so she takes on the role of Roz for the duration. He having committed suicide at the end of Part 1.

Roz based his characters on real-life people, so Kendra encounters several of the same personages we saw in Part 1, notably Tommy Pistol reprising his role as an irritating sadist. This time Tommy abuses Abella Danger after releasing her from her cramped little slave cage about the size of one for a dog in a kennel. His role in those good old days would have called for a larger-than-life real actor like Timothy Carey or my personal favorite John Davis Chandler, but instead Tommy is terrible, totally affected and mannered. Give the creep yet another AVN award for awfulness.

She also encounters Derrick Pierce, tattoos and all. If they'd buy the guy a wig maybe I'd wake up and pay attention to him, but what we get is mechanical sex, suitable for streaming.

New to the sequel is the British team of Jasmine Jae and Marcus London, whose characters are shoe-horned into the plot and hump as if they'd never left Blighty.

Ultimately Kendra comes face to face with Karlie. Quasarman muffs the ending, trying pretentiously for inflated importance and ending up with a jumble -did Karlie murder Kendra and commit suicide, or not? We'll have to wait breathlessly for a third segment some day to find out. Or maybe we won't wait around to suffer further.

In the familiar "Suckers!" marketing ploy, Part 2 is packaged with a second "bonus" DVD, which is titled Kendra vs. Karlie and consists of six lengthy vignettes excerpted from (and advertising thereby) six Zero Tolerance releases directed by Q starring one or the other of the two actresses.

Parenthetical note: XBIZ awarded this clunker "BDSM Release of the Year". Way to go guys - payola is not dead!
