Note that IMDb has an unfortunate mash-up for this listing, mixing porn credits with innocent folks cranking out a short subject with the same title. Besides the 9-minute vs. 157-minute disparity in running times, these films are poles apart.
I watched the lengthy Holly Randall XXX feature for Digital Playground, one of many she's directed recently for the label, all of them bad. This vaguely resembles those direct-to-video shows of the '80s like "Witchboard", and has four young women playing a role-playing game in which each one rolls the dice and then we see enacted (through the magic of pointless porn) a play-let set in a fantasy land where the girl gets to do heroic stuff and hump. They're all trying to solve the game, except one of the girls is selfish and tries to ruin it.
Though that great one Kylie Ireland (and her better half Andy Appleton) are credited with art direction, the sets are ridiculously cheapo and fake looking, ruining all the fantasy content immediately. They reminded me of old '70s soft-core porn, notably the Harry Hurwitz and Charles Band adult fairy tale junkers I used to see so often at drive-ins. Only Randall's settings are worse.
The girls, particularly fan favorite Jada Stevens, do a good job, while the guys are rather poor, ranging from ubiquitous veteran Derrick Pierce phoning it in to untalented newcomers like Donnie Rock and Jay Smooth, terrible substitutes for the previous generation of porn studs, many of whom have been put out to pasture. I wish DP would put Holly out to pasture as well.
