I have seen every single season of AHS and Hotel still remains my favorite, hands down. The only reason I won't give this series a perfect 10 is because I thought the final episode was kind of lame though I do understand why the writers may have decided that it was a good idea, I can see the purpose of it - just didn't approve of the execution.
I love everything about the set-up. The Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles is the original inspiration for this season, as well as H. H. Holmes "murder castle." I am not one of those people who go crazy over Evan Peters in any role he plays but Peters portrayal of Mr. March is absolutely chef's kiss.
Gaga brought the glam and I appreciated the contrast of high fashion, Art Deco, and over-the-top unrealistic violence with the general darkness in the Hotel Cortez and the existence of ghosts along with other supernatural themes. There were also numerous subplots to keep the viewer hooked (though I've seen some AHS fans complain that this was confusing for them) and Hypodermic Sally is one of my all-time-favorite Sarah Paulson portrayals because it just goes to show what an incredibly wide range she has as an actress.
My review is one hundred percent biased to my own personal taste in horror movies and art, so I don't pretend that this season of AHS is for everyone.
