This is a prime example of why I have never laughed harder and more consistently while watching an animated kid's show. This episode relentlessly mocks the Shoddy Knockoff Product. Well, this is actually based on an actual cartoon that's a real Chinese knockoff of Gumball. I remember watching these cartoons and being amazed at how blatant they were in copying it. It features the characters, only as goats for some reason? I should have realized a show as great as this would mock it.
Thank you Cartoon Network, for giving us all these new episodes this month. I guess you could consider this a crossover of sorts. Specifically, the Chinese knockoff is called "Miracle Star". I'm so glad Ben Bocquelet got back at these people for making money off of his product. Does that mean "The Amazing World Of Gumball" and "Miracle Star" are in the same Universe? This might as well be the actual fates of the characters themselves. If it's to be treated as a crossover, it might be the funniest ever made. There's even a great moral about coming up with original material. It makes me realize that the knockoff show has no version of Anais.
They comment on this saying it's probably because she's the only girl in the family. I also realize she's the third child. Yeah, this isn't something popular in China. Dang, they threw in great political satire while they were at it! The Wattersons discover that these knockoffs copy everything they do. First, they try outright fighting them, but they're too evenly matched. They try to give them unique identities, but they still copy them. I knew that they would eventually use the lack of Anais against them. There's a great action scene at the end and a satisfying conclusion. There's even a joke about them getting new voice actors...again! This is brilliant! ****
