Surprisingly Good Indie Film
socrates429 December 2019
I honestly wasn't expecting too much from this low-budget movie. It didn't look like the kind of thing I'd normally enjoy and I almost didn't watch it. But I'm glad I did! The story is totally original and unpredictable, and the camerawork is very well done.

The acting is somewhat hit or miss, especially toward the beginning, but that's too be expected. It hits more often than it misses, and when it does, look out! Highly recommend.

Indie noir gem!

Dark and disturbing with believable performances. Tension and suspense were well maintained with clever use of shadows and subtle lighting in the cinematography. If you're a noir nerd like myself you'll love indie film!

Stunning little indie Thriller!

A stunning little indie Thriller. I was very surprised at the quality the inventive action the flat out beautiful cinematography and lighting, this has a lot of elements to be impressed by. Independent films in this genre are incredibly difficult to get right with budget constraints, but this hits the mark big time.

The mark of a strong storyteller on their way up
csheff39 February 2018
Whole lot of gritty visual style and a killer soundtrack wrapped in what felt like an indie filmmaker's homage to an amalgam of Nicolas Winding Refn storytelling/Guy Ritchie set ups/and classic crime film Tarantino. Virtually none of the scenes in the film will end the way you expect them to, the mark of a strong storyteller on their way up. Stoked to follow them and see what's next!

I love noir and I love horror, so BLACK LUCK fired on all cylinders for me!
ryanbartongrimley27 November 2017
BLACK LUCK is a legitimately awesome crime thriller! I loved the final twist(no spoilers here), the lead actors were consistently great and the pacing is top notch. The violence, both raw and visceral, brought it right into the world of horror-noir which in my opinion is a really under-served genre I'd personally love to see more of. This is further enhanced by some great photography and a strong sense of atmosphere that you don't usually see in indie films. The story is lean, but it's deep and complex in its subtext, also made stronger by characters with real problems and real faults. Hey, I love noir and I love horror, so BLACK LUCK fired on all cylinders for me. BRAVO!

The storytelling, visuals and atmosphere were absolutely on point ! Really excited about all the filmmakers' future projects. Black luck delivers in huge amounts in both style and substance.
