At this point, if you were to be asked what your favorite Netflix show is, you might first need to clarify: On the air or canceled? Since 2012, Netflix has failed to renew dozens upon dozens of shows, many of which have irked fans into protests and online bashing of the streaming giant.
In a joint interview with Bloomberg, co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters discussed their partnership, where the streamer is headed, and one of the most controversial Netflix topics: the barrage of fan-favorite shows that have been canceled. In a rather bold statement, Sarandos said, “We have never canceled a successful show.” But before you go jumping down his throat, he did offer an explanation: “A lot of these shows were well-intended but talk to a very small audience on a very big budget. The key to it is you have to be able to talk to a small...

It's been a long wait without fresh episodes of Stranger Things, but the Netflix hit is adding some new cast members that confirm a return to a former location for the series.
The sci-fi drama has added Amybeth McNulty, Myles Truitt, Regina Ting Chen, and Grace Van Dien in recurring parts for Stranger Things Season 4.
They join fellow new cast members Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn, who were all announced to be joining the show shortly after production resumed.
McNulty (Anne With an E) joins as Vickie, a “cool, fast-talking nerd,” according to her character description.
She catches the eye of one of the core cast members, so that will be fun!
The actress has also appeared in Morgan and British series Agatha Raisin.
Truitt will play Patrick, a Hawkins basketball star who has talent, friends, and a good life until a big turn of events sends his life spiraling.

The untitled spinoff of “The Boys” at Amazon has added Reina Hardesty to its growing cast.
Hardesty joins previously announced cast members Shane Paul McGhie, Maddie Phillips, and Aimee Carrero, Jaz Sinclair and Lizze Broadway, all of whom will play young superheroes. Set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (and run by Vought International), the untitled series is described as an irreverent, R-rated show that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. As Variety previously reported, the show is expected to receive a series order at the streamer.
This will not be Hardesty’s first time playing a character with powers. She previously appeared in both The CW’s “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow” as Joss Mardon, a.k.a. Weather Witch. She also...

They will star opposite Emily Osment and Gregg Sulkin in the project, created and written by Dolgen and Mand and directed by Pamela Fryman.

Netflix has announced the fate of another two series, and it's not good news for both, unfortunately.
Outer Banks, which became a sleeper hit for the streaming service, has snagged a second season order.
Greenhouse Academy, meanwhile, has been canceled after four seasons.
Outer Banks is a coming of age story that follows a tight-knit group of local teens (the “Pogues”) in the beach vacation destination of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
When a hurricane kills the power for the summer season, it sets off a chain of illicit events that force the friends to make life-altering decisions.
The search for their ringleader’s missing father, forbidden romances, a high-stakes treasure hunt, and the escalating conflict between the Pogues and their rivals turn their summer into one filled with mystery and adventure they’ll never forget.
The series stars Chase Stokes (Tell Me Your Secrets) as John, Madelyn Cline (The Originals) as Sarah,...

Netflix is adding a robust line-up of popular programs to its slate in March.
In addition to rom-coms like Matthew Mcconaughey’s “Ghosts of Girlfriend’s Past,” “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “Always a Bridesmaid,” the streamer is also adding a few classics like “Goodfellas” and “The Shawshank Redemption” starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. The latter film also serves as an analogy for actor Macaulay Culkin’s journey to freedom, according to his Esquire interview.
Original Netflix shows coming to the platform next month include “Lost Girls,” “Crip Camp” and Season 3 of “Elite.” Based on a true story, “Lost Girls” follows a mother who, in her desperate search to find her missing daughter, helps to uncover a string of unsolved murders. With February 29th fast approaching – this is a Leap Year, remember – Netflix is preparing to roll out a fresh helping of new content for March 2020.
It’s a familiar combination of original series, time-honored classics and beloved franchise films, with next month set to herald the arrival of Resident Evil: Apocalypse and its undead sequel, Extinction. Sure, it’s a far cry from the quality and craft of The Lord of the Rings – speaking of which, both the Twin Towers and The Return of the King will be departing Netflix in four weeks’ time – but the saga of Alice still carved out an audience to call its own.
Also peppered throughout Netflix’s March 2020 catalog are some big-name horror titles and edge-of-your-seat thrillers, including Signs and the third season of Ozark. And then there’s the third season of Castlevania, which, it’s fair to say, has been a long time coming.

Here's what's new on Netflix in March 2020! We've got a complete list of what's leaving, too.
Normally the big story for each month of Netflix new releases are the exciting batch of Netflix original series and movies arriving. For Netflix's new releases for March 2020, things are a little bit different. Yes, there are some cool originals here but...look at those movies!
March 1 sees the arrival of Corpse Bride, The Shawshank Redemption, There Will Be Blood, and Goodfellas! Martin Scorsese likely can't unilaterally decide when and where his movies stream, but it is a happy coincidence that Goodfellas will now exist alongside The Irishman.
As for those Netflix originals...Ozark is the biggest returning hit in March. The story of a very corrupt family airs its third season on March 27. Also of note are Castlevania season 3 (March 5), Altered Carbon: Resleeved (March 19). But really after Goodfellas, nothing else was really necessary.

Efrat Dor (The Zookeeper’s Wife) is set for a recurring role on the upcoming third season of Amazon’s hit series Sneaky Pete.
Created by Bryan Cranston and David Shore, Sneaky Pete stars Emmy nominee Giovanni Ribisi as con man Marius, who left prison only to find himself hunted by the vicious gangster he once robbed. With nowhere else to turn, he took cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cellmate Pete, “reuniting” with Pete’s estranged family.
Dor will play Lizzie, an amoral con woman with boundless skill and no moral conscience. She’s not mean spirited. She’s more of a nihilist. Life has no meaning, so do what you want, and live for the thrill of today.
The series, which hails from Sony Pictures Television, also stars Marin Ireland as Julia Bowman, Margo Martindale as Audrey Bernhardt, Shane McRae as Taylor Bowman, Libe Barer...

No TV conversation is complete anymore without the Netflix behemoth, as the service adds entire seasons to its never-ending pile on a weekly basis. While recently putting together a roundup of every TV review IndieWire has published in 2018, we came to the realization that it would probably take a lifetime to get through all the shows released in this calendar year alone.
Netflix has said it will spend upwards of $8 billion annually in programming costs. Granted, some of that goes to acquisition of previously produced content — but CFO David Wells has said Netflix will produce as much as 700 originals worldwide this year. That’s a lot of TV.
In 2017, Netflix ended the year by reporting that users watched more than 140 million hours of content per day, or 1 billion hours per week. But that’s a collective stat. To put a solid number on how much of our lives Netflix has been vying for,...
