It surely won't be me, but someday a future porn historian will take on Jim Powers' massive oeuvre, and try to discern themes or patterns -quite a project as he is one of the few XXX directors to have made over 1,000 videos. I am watching all of his "Perverted Stories" volumes, and #5 is a winner.
It adequately displays Powers' range, as he likes to take a demented or at minimum unusual premise and then derive both humor and Max Hardcore- level extreme sex from it. I cannot tolerate that approach in full-length (and TEDIOUS) gonzo features, but Powers' short-story format here is most satisfying.
Oddest vignette has the unappealing Rod Fontana well-cast as a shy guy with one eye in the middle of his forehead, like the Cyclops not of myth but of Bert I. Gordon's entertaining '50s junker. He's on a blind date with Heidi Neiss and the running gag is straight out of Saturday Night Live, as poor taste jokes about his eye keep popping up. Neiss's uninhibited approach to anal sex is what makes this segment a winner.
Superstar of the day Missy is terrifically beautiful as a wood nymph having a threesome which includes a Pan-styled satyr in a lovely but low-down (of course) opening segment.
Poor taste is the name of the game in "The Exam" , subjecting an 8-months pregnant Fallon to medical sex antics. Perfect example of how Powers manages to get respectable stars to move out of their comfort zones.
Finale is just plain silly as 3 guys wearing presidential masks (Reagan, G.W. Bush and Clinton) have their way with glamorous Jordan Lee. Presumably one of them is Ron Jeremy, a regular for Powers.
