More Balanced Alternative to the COVE

Warning: Spoilers
This is not a "pro-whaling" movie. However, hardcore Greenpeace zealots will hate it. More nuanced look at a complex issue. Coverage of the arrogant one-dimensional behavior of the Greenpeace team is not flattering. However, some of the better Greenpeace arguments are covered...and by the way listened to by the locals. Outlook by the end of the movie is that whaling for food will sputter out and die for lack of actual demand in Japan. The more complicated issue is capturing of dolphins live for delivery to amusement parks in China, Russia, North Korea, and Turkey is a bit uglier. Not for zealots, nice movie for more thoughtful viewers.

Tradition
abcvision13 August 2018
Every year in a sleepy town in Japan, Taiji there is a ritual of hunting whales and dolphins. From the outside it seems cruel and unusual. But from the inside it comes from a long tradition. The movie shows both sides and showcases how a 400 year tradition struggles in a modern social conscious world. Lots of beautiful shots and a story of strong views on both sides.

Nothing!

No direction! No deep interviews! No Balance!

Sasaki made Taiji PR movie for money. The title should't copied from another good genuine one.
