Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - A Promising Future
jamiemannell9 September 2018
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy shows promising signs of what the future holds for Uncharted.

Chloe returns with a different Nadine from Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (2016) in an epic adventure against menacing villain, Asav.

There are plenty of positives to take from The Lost Legacy. One would be that it's totally stunning (as is tradition in the series). Halebidu is a truly beautiful setting. The gameplay is brought over well from the previous entry and Chloe is a great lead, with Nadine and Sam completing an intoxicating trio, with players wanting more once the credits roll. It's a well empowering and positive portrayal for female leads, without the game becoming patronising or forcing its ideals upon us. Naughty Dog are so good at that.

For negatives, the game does become slightly boring despite its short running time. The story simply doesn't rival the previous entries and while the trio is great and the signs are good for any possible future entries, this trio can't match up to Nate, Elena and Sully.

In conclusion, The Lost Legacy is a more than worthy entry to the series. It's a good game, with a fantastic finale. Overall, this shows the series can go on and still rival its competitors.

I'm Sorry, Lara Who?

Lost Legacy is not as exciting as Uncharted 4, a whole lot shorter than Uncharted 4, and yet still as fun and visually jaw-dropping as Uncharted 4.

I'm Sorry, It's Better Than Any Tomb Raider/10

Superb adventure - hope it won't be the last

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" (2017) is a superb spin off of "Uncharted" series. Set in the same universe after the events of "Thief's End" it does not star our bellowed Nate, but Chloe instead. Accompanied by another character from 4th part (and later but another one - no spoilers) she sets out to find a relic in India. While the plot of "The Lost Legacy" isn't as great and epic as 4th games (which i think is still the best in the series), the story was never a driving force behind the series. What i absolutely loved about "The Lost Legacy" was jaw-dropping beautiful settings, amazing and graphics which made me from time to time and again and again to simply stop and look at the world around you - its breathtaking. It took be around 8 hours to complete this game - this is the shortest game in the series, but i did not rushed and looked explored every nook and cranny of it.

Overall, "The Lost Legacy" is a superbly involving action adventure game with terrific pacing, clever writing and blockbuster level production. I do hope they won't end this series with this game and continue with the franchise in the future. I loved this game.

Uncharted Lost Legacy Review
Moviememmer26 October 2019
Pros:
  • Great story & characters (despite no Nate)
  • Great fast paced Gameplay
  • Good car exploration areas
  • Nadine is a badass
  • Great graphics, voice, animation

Cons:
  • Not allot of innovation from Uncharted 4 (thou doesn't need to be)

Verdict: Feels abit like Uncharted 4.5, but its kinda intended to be. Still a great game to get, and a must play if u love the Uncharted series.

Best of the Series
matthewwalker664 March 2018
The Lost Legacy doesn't really do anything the best in the series, but is overall the best package simply because unlike every other Uncharted game, there isn't a single tedious moment of gameplay (except perhaps the final fight with Asav, but that lasts mere minutes). Throughout the game, Chloe is a fantastic protagonist and while Nathan Drake is one of the greatest video game characters, it is actually a good thing for one to play from a different perspective. This removed the incredibly boring Drake's journal sections in turn of a more reward lockpick system and more visually appealing photos. The areas in which you could use stealth weren't as well constructed as they were in UC4, but the combat was and the combat was generally more exciting and less frustrating. Sam Drake is an awesome addition again, but is left out just enough to remind that this isn't a Nathan Drake tale. The two aspects that Lost Legacy absolutely knocks out of the park are the puzzles and the visuals. The puzzles, for the first time in the series are actually enjoyable to figure out and the visuals, while similar to UC4 are absolutely stunning. The open world (Chapter 4) has gotten some criticism for not having much to do, and while this is somewhat true, the open world is still fantastic because it is a first for the series and there are still 11 hoysala tokens to find, meaning there are still 15 substantial things to do on the map. The reward for finding all of the tokens gets you The Queen's Ruby, which makes the treasure hunting actually doable. Taking each UC game as whole, this is surprisingly the very best.

Here we go!
kelboy1024 June 2022
This all out action adventure never ceases to amaze me providing some of the best scenery with a great location and a new lead protagonist in Chloe Frazer. Previously she was the anti hero of the Uncharted series, now she kinda still is in an annoyingly boisterous way. She has always been unpredictable but is calculated in her approach whilst being quite laid back at times too. Throw in Nadine Ross and you got the recipe for a dynamic duo in archaeology, they are just one tusk away from preventing a civil war! I can't help but think this could've been a co-op story mode to fulfil the gamer completely. Somehow I always tend to be more intrigued by the bad girls and Chloe Frazer is no exception to this theory. She has the ability to do the right thing when it really matters however we can never be hundred percent sure that she will. Like most uncharted games this has plenty of puzzles, treasures and third person action. I'd say it has one of the best endings of any action game with very cinematic explosive climax. Definitely well worth sticking this one out to the very end. Some have been disappointed this game isn't particularly long yet I sometimes prefer the less is more approach. Often we can get too engrossed into he gaming world without really having time to process it! This game gave us a sample of the world around us and how valuable it really is. These exotic surroundings should be explored in our own life's rather than just through the eyes of a video game.

There is also the return of another major character even so I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise. In order the obtain the tusk Chloe and Nadine must overcome a ruthless warlord and his army of insurgents whom are looking to trade the tusk to the highest bidder or so it seems. This isn't a game where the narrative is the key focus although it does have some compelling moments. Overall it was really fun bringing another solid experience to the franchise.

Would have given it a 10 but...
maja_basket23 February 2022
It's way too short! Such a fun game. Beautiful scenery, amazing story and tons of girl power. I also loved the surprise character showing up. Really hope they make another game with Chloe and Nadine. Maybe one where you can chose who you want to play as.

My review after playing it :
nawafalthobaity16 July 2020
Uncharted the lost legacy was a good game to play tbh , but it too shorter than uncharted 4 , I feel like naughty dog made so quick without spending time on it , the graphics was better than uncharted 4 a little bit , but If you didn't play uncharted 4 and uncharted the lost legacy I advice you to buy/play uncharted 4 first , it is much fun tbh and the graphics/soundtracks are so good , and thanks.

Not groundbreaking, but still solid.
dumbledorecalrissian28 August 2020
It's got a disappointingly generic villain and not too much to offer gameplay-wise (silenced pistols and lock picking are great but I wish there was more). However, the chemistry between Chloe and Nadine is engaging and thoughtful, and their relationship grew on me the more I played. It's beautiful, graphically, the animations are tight, performances are great and there are a few surprises toward the third-act that were pretty enjoyable. Again, not groundbreaking, but a more than worthy entry in the series. I'd honestly love a full-length game with these characters, so long as there's a good enough story to go with it.

Legacay ... saved(?)
kosmasp2 August 2023
No pun intended - just when you thought all was over .. well actually this was announced quite early I think. And the very first one of these that I did platinum! That alone would or should be reason to give it a ten I reckon ... add to that the story ... but it is quite short playtime wise. Though it never was meant to do anything more than give us a bit more ... to soothe the blues one may have felt after the Uncharted 4 ending ... well overall ending.

That all being said, it is also the first Uncharted game where the player takes control of a female character ... for a whole game. Some might say it went full circle back to Lara Croft ... but never forget, there was Indiana Jones before that. Although you never had a game quite like the Uncharted or Tomb Raider games ... this may be a small affair (no pun intended), but a nice add on (another pun?) ... I really liked it ... and if you are an adventure game fan ... well play(station) on.

Enjoy the gameplay
mertafor6 February 2022
Since this is not a full game like Uncharted 4, it's difficult to rate this. It feels more like "well, we've created this superb game engine. Let's try it with a female lead with lots of gameplay instead of a story focused game". This is exactly it. But the problem is long or short you want to get attached to the protagonist. Chloe is a bit of a jerk in my opinion. Drake's goofy look and attitude yet one liners and problem solving skills make Uncharted cool with a nicely balanced character. Also there is a problem with face modeling and animation. In Uncharted 4, Drake's face modeling and animation look superb. In this one, both Chloe and Nadine look scary and irritating, particularly the eyes. I've played this game when it first came out and this week beat it again after ps5 release. It felt like Naughty Dog gave their whole energy to Uncharted 4 and left this as is.

To sum up, I could say it's fun gameplay but clearly game's repeatibility is very low, even after 5 years.

Extremely overrated game
hakobyanhakob811 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I'm really sorry for writing this but frankly this was one of the most boring game plays I have had in a long time. Since it's a game that nearly plays itself, it should pay more attention to the story, however the plot repeats itself, something we have seen in previous uncharted games many many times. It certainly has a lot of typical climbing, shooting, mediocre dialogue, then again shooting, then again climbing. The game is very short although I spend three evenings to finish it because after every 2 hours tops I felt like sleeping. Yes, it was that boring and unoriginal. The ending was somewhat entertaining because of fast-paced chase but it didn't last long too, since as I said previously this game just keeps repeating its own content. For someone who has never played an uncharted game, this might work, but if you love Tomb Raider, this might seem as lifeless as it gets. The most fun part were the end credits, and I was happy it's over now. I can't say I have ever been an uncharted fan, although somehow ended up buying all the previous entries, but this one will be the last for sure. Naughty Dog can do much better than this. This is at best merely an ok game, nothing more.

very good game
absam-505541 September 2021
Although it's short and the story is very simple, but it's a very good game and it has many affirmative sides like the cutscenes, dialogues and the boss fight was completely epic. It's a great game.

Solid game, but even more warning signs then Uncharted 4
amir-5016826 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
There isn't much to say about the gameplay in my opinion. It's still very solid and fun all be it a bit repetitive. It's nice to see Chloe back as she was one of my favorite characters in the series and her voice actress just does a superb job.

My issue is something that came over from Uncharted 4 and that being Sam and Nadine. Sam really didn't need to be there and I would have much more preferred to see Cutter or maybe even Sully.

Sam is just a bland character with no likable traits whatsoever and I don't know if this was on purpose or not. But Nadine Ross takes the cake of being completely irritating. First of all you just know that we are supposed to like her and feel sympathy towards her because she lost her mercenary group to another guy. And thank you Naughty Dog for reminding us player that she is indeed a woman and strong (comically strong unless it's in a boss fight) and independent. But that's nothing new ! Both Chloe and Elaine are also strong in their own way and WAY more likable. And in this game where we have to spend the majority of time with Nadine the voice acting just comes back into focus for me. Nadine apparently can't decide whether she wants to sound like a British royalist from The Crown or have this weird whispery voice that just tries so hard to sound tough and cool. It's very jarring to listen to.

Obviously when we get to meet Sam we are reminded that Nate and him tried to kill her so she is mad at them still. I am sorry but do we just ignore the amount of times she tried to kill them and also lock them in a burning ship AFTER Nate saved her live ?

But I get it she is cool and independent and don't need no man.

On a side not I just want to point out how funny it is that Nadine is voiced by a white woman. Not because its terrible or anything but knowing Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmans politics it's funny because you would think they would be all over this if it was done by someone else. Plus Laura Bailey didn't even do a good job although I don't know if that was the direction she was given by the producers.

I hope they don't do another Uncharted. Ever since Amy Henning was let go the story direction just went all over the place.

Again ironic seeing as they advocate strong women and then fire the woman that made Uncharted great.

Naughty Dogs Desperate Attempt To Keep This Franchise Relevant
MisterKino6 August 2020
Its fine. The game itself is totally playable and the graphics look fantastic, but everything else is just weak. The story is pretty generic, the gameplay gets repetitive and the characters are so played out. You're off playing one of the other 4 Uncharteds or a Tomb Raider game. Personally, I love the first 3 in the series and I genuinely think they're better than the Tomb Raider games, but this is skipable and definitely not worth its full price.

If you're really desperate to play this, get it for cheap or have a friend lend you their copy.
