Lemming Film, one of the Netherlands’ leading international co-production outlets, has brought its newest project, “Greed,” to Conecta Fiction’s Pitch Copro Series.
Spearheaded by up-and-coming director Eché Janga and leading screenwriter Oscar van Woensel, the six-episode horror-drama will follow a tight-knit group of Rotterdam restaurant workers who are offered all the money they could ever need, only to learn of the many dangerous strings attached.
In the first few episodes, seven working-class restaurateurs will see their dreams come true when millions of Euros get dropped off at their feet. But soon, those dreams curdle to nightmares when a mysterious group of men wearing deer masks turn up, demanding reciprocity for their financial largesse.
With a hard partying, twenty-and-thirty-something cast of characters and a gritty visual approach, “Greed” is pitched towards the same genre audience Lemming has sought to cultivate with its crime thriller “Fenix” and its upcoming vampire drama “Heirs of the Night.

“Lucha Underground” has become a cult hit with wrestling fans, thanks in large part to the elaborate backstage segments that have given the show an otherworldly mythology that has gotten bigger with each season. Skip Chaisson, director of those cutscenes, takes TheWrap behind the scenes with notes on his favorite shots from the El Rey series and what inspired them.
Episode 1: The Opening Fight Scene: “Inspired by an old El Santo comic, this was our first big fight. It established what we were doing with Lucha “real world” fights.
Episode 4: King Cuerno’s introduction: “This was one of the moments where I knew we were on to something. The sun was setting and King walks out to the edge of the roof a la “The Dark Knight” with no fear, a total badass hero come to life.”
Episode 4: Fenix’s introduction: “This was another step we took...

Welcome to week two of the Nerdly Wrestling Awards, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a very competitive week of wrestling to get to, with one league getting a card in as an early exception to the rule. Let’s get right to the best of wrestling, from last week.
Worst Promo:
1. The Smoke Show (Impact)
2. N/A (Ring Of Honor)
3. The Wedding Of Johnny Mundo And Taya (Lucha Underground)
4. N/A (Aaa)
5. The Resurrection Of Joey Ryan (All In)
6. N/A (Major League Wrestling)
7. The IIconics Challenge Naomi (WWE)
Winner: The Wedding Of Johnny Mundo And Taya (Lucha Underground)
This was pretty lousy television no matter how you look at it. Lucha Undeground went a little too close to Vince McMahon’s bread and butter here, complete with the bad comedy that Vince likes.

An interview with Kaweh Modiri, the Cinemart filmmaker who won the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award of €20,000 for the development of an international co-production.
People who attend the Rotterdam Film Festival and Cinemart (Iffr for short) for the most part are an idealistic group truly believing that film can change the world. And the corollary to this is that we feel united with the world in our quest. The Dutch have always actively promoted international voices, in cinema, arts and in general. The Hubert Bals Fund and the Netherlands Film Fund seek coproductions and have a role in world cinema which belies the small size of their country.
Cinemart Winners
