The Dark Is Coming
claudio_carvalho1 January 2019
King Harald and his fleet is coming to Wessex. King Alfred asks Bjorn, Lagertha and Ubbe to prove their loyalty and fight Harald. Aethelred participates of a scheme to overthrow his brother and kill Heahmund and the pagans. Floki has a vision of a spirit that indicates where her body is. The Seer sees the darkness coming. Igor unsuccessfully tries to force him to tell people that he is a god.

"The Lost Moment" is another good episode of "Vikings". King Alfred commanding his army will work? Bjorn and Ubbe half-brother may bring additional troubles to them. What will be the consequences of the encounter of Igor and the Seer? Therefore, many questions to be answered. My vote is seven.

Heahmund is a ridiculous Batman wannabe
guidovangend-704-4138447 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I like Vikings a lot, but the portrayal of bishop Heahmund by Jonathan Rhys Meyers is absolutely ridiculous. His Batman voice imitation is annoying from the start and adds an unrealistic dimension to the show, which makes me want to fast forward the episode.

With all the extremely young actors leading the show now, it tends to become more of a teen series than an adult show to my opinion. I really miss the character of Ragnar and also the storylines are getting thinner and less important. It almost seems like they have abandoned the historical essence of the show and wanted to be more fantasy.

Ivar was a great and successful leader of the Vikings, but he is merely a childish monster and it is getting harder each episode to believe that events like this have occurred. I know it's fiction, but I hear my self thinking: "this is ridiculous" more and more.

Ivar is being used and he does not realize that yet, but I hope he does. Alex os a great actor. What really gets me excited is Hvitserks defiance of Ivar, I am definetly sensing something here, cannot wait for the next episode

The Vikings Soap Opera. Downfall of a once great show. Garbage acting, story, scenery, etc = Boredom! Very sad.
Bababooe20 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This is sad. I loved this show. I own the first 4 season on DVD and watched multiple times, and will watch again. The first half of season 5 was ok. But this half is just plain garbage.

Here's what happened, if you were able to stay awake: 1, Floki is still tripping in Iceland (?) with a bunch of losers. One of the girls is missing, and dead. Her ghost comes to Floki and tells him who killed her and where to find the body. They find the body. Floki exiles the murderer and his entire family. Exciting? No.

2, Ivar the Terrible Actor, psyche out. What a build up from last episode, where the show tried to convince, or con, the viewers that he was going to sacrifice the only brother that stayed with him, Hvitserk. The sacrifice? A girl that looks like Lag. While Ivar and his Wife are in clown face, they hang this poor girl upside down, cut her neck and burn her down, while Ivar shouts that he is killing Lag. Great? No. Garbage? Yes. Hvit visits the Seer. Then Ivar visits the Seer. The Seer tells Ivar that he is full of Garbage. Ivar kills the Seer. I think the Seer was telling us that not only is Ivar Garbage, that the show is now Garbage. We see some rebels brought in front of Ivar. Ivar asks for loyalty, but only gets spit on his face. These guys are hung as an example. Real garbage, low impact nonsense. Ivar's acting consists of shouting, and ridiculous unfunny jokes.

3, England. Alfred gives an ultimatum to Bjoke, Lag, Torvi, Ubbe. Either fight for him or they'll be killed. Nothing can save Alfred the Terrible Actor. Alfred is in the mafia now. "I gave them an offer they can't refuse". Didn't Ubbe and Torvi convert to Jesus? Alfred walks over to Bjoke, and what comes out of his mouth? "You cut your hair". Nonsense. Then we see a scene where someone is playing with their hair. It's Alf. He cut his hair. He asked Ubbe to train him in fighting. Some short scenes of training, and Alf will transform from loser to super fighter. I can't wait for the comedy. Meanwhile at the batcave, Aethelred is married, and some soap time with his new wife. Real Soap. Then we see Aeth conspiring with Conspirators to kill Alf. Alf gives Aeth a hug, Aeth backstabs the backstabbers, as the Vikings try to look suspicious. This is all so poorly performed, it's just sad.

We see Bjoke, bringing Magnus to meet the family, Lag, Ubbe, and Torvi. Mag, another poor actor with poor dialogue. Mag wants them to join Harold against Alf. Ubbe sees the BS. We then see Lag meeting Heahmund the Batman Voice. Heah will go to hell for Lag. Evil Soap.

King Harold taking a boat ride to Wessex with his new buddy and his wife. Harold looking to make a move on his buddie's wife, Manface.

What we have here is poor writing. Poor characters. Rag is dead. Rollo showed up for a paycheck. Floki a great character and actor is relegated to the sideline with crap story and dialogue. Lag, Bjoke, Ubbe, Torvi, and Harold are decent characters and actors but they're also relegated to poor story and dialogue. Alf, Aeth, their wives, Judith, Mag, Heah all crap. Ivar the Terrible Actor, terrible. Just garbage.

We have no lead character. We have no lead story. We have poor acting. Poor scenes. 3 episodes and no battle scenes. Just a poor girl getting sacrificed in a cheap psyche out. Hung rebels. And our dear old Seer, one of the only real actors left on this show, gets a hammer to the head. The Seer saw the show is now garbage. I'm afraid if this keeps going on it will tarnish the first 4 seasons.

How does it keep getting worse?
Tr-u-mpbilly21 December 2018
I had hopes for this episode because the last episode left us with a cliffhanger - who was under the hood? Incredibly, the writers found a way to completely let me down. I can't even imagine how they thought this was a good idea.

I just read, Vikings is already renewed for another season. They really should just stop this season and apologize for the mess they've made. Then, put some effort into next season. Right now, it's just so bad, I don't believe it'll get better until, hopefully, next season.

Never thought I'd be rooting against a cripple..
landonbfielder20 October 2021
But Ivar is beyond annoying, and the actor who plays him is the epitome of an over-actor. He's constantly shouting, and trying to have his Gladiator or Braveheart moment in practically every scene of relevance. I can't stand it- I'm skipping forward through all of his scenes, and to my point, it doesn't seem like I'm missing anything either. It's time for new storylines...

Please stop

This series had so much potential even after the death of Ragnar but they destroyed it, for me the series ended when season 4 ended.

I am so bored
david_lindhardt21 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I used to like this show because it had action and drama and was always entertaining. This parody is a mere shadow of what it used to be. I thought when they planned the attack on King Alfred, that finally there would be some action. What followed was embarrasing and I doubt that the writers will be able to turn things around.

I loved Ivar as a character, ruthless and clever, but this whole thing about him thinking he is a god, it doesnt match his intelligence, and makes him off as naive and gullable.

All that buildup for nothing
misimester-5837621 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
My God did they ruin this show. They hyped "the sacrifice" for so long and what was the resolution of that? Nothing. Bishop Batman and the whole Iceland plot could be removed and you'd still have the same GOT ripoff of a bad show. The sudden rise of cuckoldry and pointless erotic scenes might shine a light on Micheal Hirst's convoluted vision of a great show, but to the viewer with the least amount of sense, they serve no point.
