Wajood is a much needed film
tapasiraju25 August 2018
A simple story, yet the film leaves so many thoughts as it ends. The beauty of this film lies in the fact that the visual narration overpowers an already brilliant screenplay. It is a fine example of a film where both the visuals and screenplay are complimenting each other. The use of text in two instances between the visuals fuels the story to a great distance but doesn't act like a break. Also, the way dream sequence is used is highly commendable. Technically, the film is extremely well made.

Now, when I said Wajood is much needed film in the headline, I did so because, sadly, stories like this are rarely told or maybe, untold in India. The writer & director, Vishal Srivastava, has to be applauded for choosing this story and to talk about the unrequited love through the eyes of a transgender. Because unrequited love is something most of us experience in our lives, the struggles the trasgenders go through touch our hearts.
