Left me wanting more
JHeez152 April 2019
There are some things in life that you cannot explain. One of those things is my deep love and connection to this show. I remember telling my neighbor to watch the OA. When I saw him again he said that he didn't like it and preferred Stranger Things. I thought to myself, "you missed it".

It may have been the time of life I was in when I initially was captivated by the first season of the OA. My wife and I had recently learned that we lost our first child due to a miscarriage. We were broken. This show is full of broken people.

There is so much to consume nowadays. It is rare to find the diamond in the rough, but this show was one of those times for me. I rewatched the first season in anticipation for this season and again was drawn into the deepness of the story telling. The final episode of season 1, especially the ending, is so powerful to me. When they recognize each other in the midst of a horrifying situation, and act out of courage, it truly touches me.

I thought the first episode of this season was dark, mysterious and original. For those disappointed that they didn't see the old familiar place they were expecting, well that is just it isn't it? We are on the other side now, in a way. I think about one of the greatest shows I have ever seen, The Wire, and how the second season "departed" from the first, but the final product was a dazzling masterpiece with a POINT. There was a purpose for why it was put together like that.

I am so happy they took 3 years to write this. This is a story that needs time to develop and not rushed like so much else on Netflix.

This show is special. It truly is. I want to binge the whole thing but I promised my wife I would wait for her. I am looking forward to episode 2 tomorrow night.

2nd Season is even better than the 1st one.

If you love David Lynch you will love this Show. If you are tired of seeing detective shows or the same show over and over again. This is something you Show definitely watch. Maybe you won't love it after watching one or two episodes...but then this series will grow on you and you will probably consider it one of the greatest shows to watch right now. You will love it or hate it, there is no middle terms on this show.

One of the best series; a real gem
Br4ve-trave1or23 March 2019
The high quality writing that made season 1 a masterpiece took 3 years to write a follow up to dazzle what fans of season found truly truly magical!!!! Please rewatch s1 bc its better the second time and a straight binge makes this a masterpiece! So many things happened s1, plus the character growth was tremendous! The school shooting was deeply planned and not a random muppet show. The writers did not dumb down and were confident in the second season. I love reading what big fans this show has made despite it being criminally underrated. I cant think of a better thriller and intriguing series! Every moment is unpredictable and such a thriller!

Jason Isaac controlled the tempo and played his character with vigor and conviction. Hes the real MVP!

Top First Episode.

Wow, the first episode definitely set an intriguing tone for the rest of the season! Can't wait to see what's ahead & I can't believe it's been since 2016 when I watched this! It's been way too long! Definitely an underrated show, in my opinion.

Amazing!!
ValdSB23 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
We have waited a long long time, to get the second season of this amazing show. But I've gotta say, its been worth waiting for! The OA is one of my favorite shows of all time. Why? Because its original, unpredictable, mysterious and edgy. The production is also fantastic, and especially the score is worth pointing out, as one of the best TV-scores of all time. It takes risks, and make you guess and think. I have never seen anything like it, and that's what makes it so special. I was a little worried that the writers would be out of touch with the story, but i gotta say that isn't the case. Its more ambiguous than season 1, while keeping the same tone and mix of elements that worked so well in season 1.

In this first episode of season 2 we see OA adapting to a new dimension after her jump, but it doesn't seem to be the right dimension shes ended in. We're also introduced to some new characters, detective Kasim, looking for a missing girl, while stumping in to a mysterious game. Zendaya also makes a surprise appearance.

The Acting is top notch, from old as well as new actors. And it wouldn't be OA without an fantastic twist to end the episode.

Angel of Death

Warning: Spoilers
It was almost three years ago we all stumbled upon this great Netflix show. I was unsure if they could recapture the magic of that first season or part but they absolutely did.

This was weird and random and had drama, everything we have come to expect from the show.

Hmm...ok..wow

Warning: Spoilers
Ok so I did not think a 2nd season could be made for this show. It had ended like Total Recall..it worked if it was all real and it worked if it was all in her head. And The mystery was part of the awe.

..Then this 2nd season started and it just cliches all over the place..of course, they are in a new dimension and surprise surprise HaB is their doctor in this world too...then surprise again that its actually the one from their dimension...Shocker...really? no!..But then it gives way to genius. The writers for season 2...WOW!..talk about well thought out. They pulled off a miracle and made season 2 even better than season 1.

A superb refreshment
pavlekladamusic12 January 2023
Season 2 started strong. This first episode is more interesting to me than half of the season 1. It finally got a bit more sci-fish and more surreal which I was looking forward to. The whole story with the mysterious game reminds me of Black Mirror. Nina adjusting to a new parallel reality is really well done. I feel like I'm watching a different show, but it is a better one. Season one focused on drama between human relationships, but this season seems to be determined to focus on the mystery and the surreal base of the whole story. It is tense, mysterious and it leaves you wanting more (unlike some rather boring episodes from season 1.

Really Interesting First Episode except..
onikage-4932422 March 2022
This was a really great start to the 2nd part of the series, I'm definitely going to keep watching.

Without going into spoilers, the one thing about OA herself that bugs me and still is happening is: She's been dealing with psychologists and psychiatrists since she was a little girl, how the hell is she so bad at not saying things that sound crazy? Its so aggravating because she's supposed to be so wise and in-touch with everything and reads/understands people so well, yet she can't help externally monologuing when she knows she's being evaluated.

If you don't want to be injected with sedatives and get locked in a room when you need to be out doing things, try LYING and telling the doctors/nurses what they want to hear so they think you're not crazy!

Is this even the same show I'm watching ?
fbmickael23 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Tl;dr : "What if Christopher Nolan made this show ?" ; this is basically season 2.

Being a huge fan of season 1, I thought it would be the same story : THIS ISN'T. You'll be amazed how different everything is, unfortunately not in a good way.

The story happens in multiple dimensions, one with the kids (like season 1) and few others. The thing is : one episode = one dimension, this could have been a great idea, but really this isn't. The story had an amazing pace in the first season, it had a poetic way of telling things. Season 2 is non-linear, kinda like the movie Inception. IT IS SO DIFFERENT FROM SEASON 1 it barely makes sense ! The story had a "it's real life but with a spiritual twist" vibe, now it's more "it's just sci-fi in multiple dimensions, deal with it, last seasons ending was a dead end so it's kinda the same characters and same plot but also not really" ...

When the mini-robots did the movements, I felt like : "hm okay this doesn't make sense anymore"

Season two.
panmanaus28 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I totally Agree season two is far more engaging. I loved the way OA didn't think the thru the consequences of skipping timelines.

Highly recommend the first season, but was refreshingly surprised season two surpassed it. With the blend of old and new characters and the introduction of new character "Karim eyc" the usual mid bending is sure too please.

The new filming locations in the bay area set a great backdrop and allow for us to escape usual Portland soggy scenery, which shows like Grimm, Kyle XY etc. Used to death.

Aging up prairie Allowed us to dodge the usual disbelief at the character transformation in between seasons(No cuts Brit Marling is finer than ever).

Enjoy.

First one was better
Pedi_723 March 2019
I think it was mixed of some episodes from tv series Cringe with some from Channel zero ... spiritual goes to si if in a weird way it's not acceptable for me and doing a movement in season 1 if you know about these things, the way human and your emotional doing the job has got nothing to do with robots doing the movement (realy dumb). If someone ask me name me a tv series with beautiful story I'll say the OA season one but make sure you don't see season 2.

Can't they turn on a light or something?
rmlerario17 June 2019
Loved Part I ... don't get Part II at all. Only half way through Episode 1 but the story is incomprehensible and the video is unwatchable. Why is it even dark in the sunshine? Maybe they were going for some effect, but it's so annoying we may not be around for the rest of it. And where is OA? Homer? Hap? Why are we supposed to care about the missing gamer?

I dont care about this story.

Silly first episode

Actually becomes annoying watching her reactions and just hearing her talk through this episode.

Hope it picks up. But was rubbish. Simple as that really.

Doesn't worth 15 minutes and doesn't get better after 30.
d-terenzzo23 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I watched the first season and it was OK, then when Netflix released the second season I tried to watch it.

The story started few hours earlier the end of the first season and it's a complete messy. Everything doesn't make any sense.

Seriously a kid who walked with a completely strange and take to abandoned mansion and he KNOWS a password of Michelle mobile?

People acting strange in the hospital, making a treatment against the patient will?

I guess she went to a parallel world and the story makes sense in the end of the season, but the first half hour make me give up for the whole series.

Killed the energy from season 1 cliff hanger
kingsx_6423 August 2019
My favorite thing in the whole world is to get invested into a show, Have that show end a season with a cool cliff hanger, and then start the next season pretending we all aren't waiting for some answers. Instead, we just get more questions. Maybe it's ok for some, but I'm not for me. Feels like I'm re watching The Handmaids tale all over again.
