The Waxwork Chronicles (2016)

*** (out of 4)

This eight-two minute documentary takes a look at the making of WAXWORK and its sequel WAXWORK II: LOST IN TIME. Writer/director Anthony Hickox is joined by the likes of Zach Galligan, J. Kenneth Campbell, Christopher Bradley, Steve Hardie, Bob Keen, Bruce Campbell and various others as they re-live the making of the two movies.

The majority of the running time is devoted to Hickox who is as lively and as entertaining as always. The documentary is broken into six parts and I honestly think the first two are the most entertaining. They each run around twenty-minutes and they take a look at the making of the two films. Some of the most fascinating things deal with the special effects, the over-the-top gore and of course the battle with the MPAA. If you're a fan of WAXWORK then you'll certainly enjoy these stories.

Several of the cast members are interviewed and this includes Galligan who gets his own section in the documentary. He tells some nice stories about the production of the film and some of the issues he had with the sequel. Just about every aspect of the production is covered so fans of both films will be happy with this.
