Necessary and Empowering!

Warning: Spoilers
This film got me so choked up when the main character was hitting the punching bag! I love that a good teacher inspired her to overcome her adversity. What a beautiful thing for students who are either bullying or being bullied to see and learn from 👏

Artistically executed & emotionally authentic
jleemackenzie21 June 2018
I watched this film at SOHO International Film Festival in Manhattan and was really impressed by both the artistry of its execution and the acting. The story itself dealt with the complicated human desire for friendship and acceptance, and did so in a way that was both painfully relatable and triumphantly defiant. The actress/writer's personal connection to the materiel gave it an authenticity that really resonated for me. The past can try to beat us up and people will always try to put us in boxes of their choosing. But it's up to us to imagine and decorate our own boxes, or in this case, cocoons, and to emerge from that cocoon as a different person. It's up to us to fly. This is a story I'd like to see expanded on in longer form. I'll be watching for it.

Brave Performance

I saw this film at the Soho Film Festival. The lead actress gives an honest and brave performance. The film kept my heart racing throughout. It is a raw look at bullying and resilience. It was also well-shot and well-scored.
