Swedish drama, well made.

In the drama genre Goliat isn't a bad movie. It's not really my favorite genre of movies but this one was certainly watchable. I don't know anybody of the Swedish actors but they all did a very believable job, each character added something to the story. A story that is entertaining enough, it has a good pace, not much action but the evolution and the desperation of the main character is worth watching. It's all well made, simple but effective, with a good cast so good enough to watch once.

How to feel trapped in your own town because of your criminal fathers actions.

Kim lives in a Industrial Life and has a father who goes in and out from Prison. The father tries to convince Kim that "not clearly people" are benig excluded from the soceity basically.

As have som personal experience from people getting excluded or feeling excluded from the Soceity. That this is an important subject and i feel like this film Portays it very well.

Also fun fact is that the People playing criminals are actually Criminals in real life!

I expected a bit more violence.

"Goliath" is a strong movie in my opinion. We meet the teenager Kimmie. He lives with his parents and two younger siblings. The household money mainly comes from criminal activities. Roland, the father and husband, is very soon going to jail. He wants Kimmie to take over his job while he is imprisoned. Kimmies mother has a serious illness. In other words, Kimmie seems to be the only one, except Roland, in the family who can bring in some money.

And yes, naturally this causes some unpleasant consequences. Kimmie is still so young. I can see that he is struggling with questions about his identity. Does he even want to be a criminal? Does he have the courage to say no to his father?

"Goliath" contains quite much violence, but I honestly expected a bit more of it. Nothing over the top, just a bit more regular violence. I would have liked to see Kimmie get a little braver. But other than that I can recommend this movie.
