My own experience was limited to, "Yet another greedy selfish entitled heir, unwilling to work a day of his life for his inheritance thus concocts a stupid ploy that nobody is believing," into something much bigger all these decades later! How exciting, I'm enthralled. Did nobody expect him to go thru withdrawal before this fabulous plan was...nevermind: Typical depiction of a wealthy offspring: Mindless. At least the boy knows how to self entertain with shadow creatures.
Rome's beautiful ruins, architecture...outstanding. Even the sunflower field is dreamy and intoxicating despite the bloodshed and fear involved (I am not sure I will ever look at sunflowers the same again). Imagine living in a place where a giant stone hand is part of your outdoor decor.
My favorite character is still the statue.
What I dislike the most is bouncing around timelines without nudges (change of clothing, lighting, a flash of caption, SOMETHING). I love flashbacks, but with an indication...regardless how small.
