Weiyoung faces accusations of being a jinx. After hearing from a maid that the birth mother is not well she decides to go sneak in the evening. This is a trap set up by the legal wife of the prime minister. The legal wife's servant poisons the birth mother and leaves. Weiyoung attends to the birth mother when the prime minister and legal wife comes in. Changle is with them. They test the medication for poison with a needle and the needle remained the same. No poison. For punishment Weiyoung is locked in a building for the night with her two servants. The next morning she is tied up to a post in front of everyone and beaten with black dog's blood. The grandmother intervenes saying she will sacrifice ten years of her life for the remaining 31 whips. Weiyoung is not recovering from her wounds as the legal wife is giving her medication that will only make her wounds worse. The governess is ordered to throw Weiyoung out into the mountains where she will die. Weiyoung hides from a wolf she sees and at the same time the nice man who rescued Weiyoung from the fire runs into her hiding place.
