This just got a whole lot better

The storyline is starting to show its hand now. What at first seemed a little dull and not so great is starting to make sense.

"I'm One of the Freaks!"

Warning: Spoilers
Amanda Brotzman and Vogel have become mysteriously stranded in a bizarre world, they have teamed up with a young lad named Farson Dengdamor, who has been spouting what to Amanda appears to be gibberish.

But Amanda's entire Taison d'être becomes seriously deranged, when she is kidnapped to find herself alone in a cave, confronted by weird figures and a strange witch?

Bergsburg Sheriffs Department becomes effectively reformed into two different task forces, with Sheriff Sherlock Hobbs and Farah Black concentrating on the Boreton Family.

They are initially starting with the mysterious case, of the missing Book Club members, following on with mum Suzie Boreton and her, connection to the Club as a former member.

Dirk Gently has seemed o become somewhat disjointed of late, which possibly leads him to believe that he needs to go off, in somewhat of a tangent to his normal modus operandi.

Dirk meets up with Todd Brontzman and Sheriff Deputy Tina Tevetino, to discuss his new strategy in a local diner. While Dirk chats over his ideas he is interrupted by an old man, who claims that he has been burdened with a life long mystery.

Arnold Cardenas and the Holistic Detective duo with Deputy Tina, visit the Cardenas household to confront his past, but what Arnold discovers there disturbs him immensely, like his nightmares coming into existence to disrupt his life.

The Bergsburg Sheriffs Department becomes fractured, with Sherlock Hobbs deciding to accompany Arnold Cardenas to the local hospital.

Leaving Deputy Tina Tevetino with the Holistic Detectives, who reach an impasse over priorities, Todd Brotzman being in a minority, the majority opting to follow Scott Brotzman, to a local Party named the Jund O Nothing.

Perfectly Absurd

Warning: Spoilers
I'm surprised this episode hasn't received more attention online. I just finished it, but it's by far the best episode so far of a solid series. A perfect 40 minutes of television. The 'everything is connected' theme is reaching a pinnacle, many of the dialogues are existential in a thoroughly satisfying way, Dirk's character is developing beautifully rather than getting stuck in a formula, the suspense is high, and the emotional highs are ecstatic. The main characters really feel like a team now, and it's happened in a way that's not forced. It's good timing and makes sense with everything they've been through together. Plus, there's a current of 70s & 80s nostalgia in the set designs & mood that manages to stay original without ripping off its inspirations - memories of Star Wars, Labyrinth, and Monty Python's Holy Grail are evoked as the show goes further than ever with its silliness, absurdity, fantasy and comedy in an enjoyable and deftly done way.

A question remains

Great episode and series in general!

My question: Did I hear a Verdi Requiem sample when "the gang" enters the barn party and discuss their strategy?
