Real Boring for Whatever This Was...
nammage14 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Apparently a six episode mini-series with a laugh track, at least in the beginning or maybe there was a TV on in the background but I swear there was a laugh track. I don't know. Doesn't matter, wasn't funny. I don't think even they knew what genre they were going for because then it moved to suspense briefly. I guess it's a love story. So, one couple break up and another get engaged all in the same hour, hours, day...whatever.

I was looking for Comedy but not laugh-out-loud Comedy. Relaxing Comedy. This is an indie: bottom-of-the-barrel indie. Don't mean that in a negative way, it's just cheaply made. Which is fine. As long as the story is engaging, doesn't really matter how cheaply made it is. The acting isn't bad but it really isn't that good, either.

The first episode shows a television from the 1990s. Unless the show takes place in the 1990s, and I don't think it does, then there's too much out-of-place in this. I mean, it's a crappy television but the two couples live in a nice house with nice furniture. I live in a singlewide trailer in the middle of nowhere and I have three widescreen TVs. So, is it the characters who are cheap or the people who made this show that they can't even afford a widescreen TV?

I know what you're thinking: what does this have to do with this mini-series in the grand scheme of things? Well...my rambling about an insignificant aspect of the first episode is more interesting than all six episodes of this mini-series especially since the opening credits last 75 seconds and the end credits last 110 seconds. Over three minutes of combined credits for a long running 25 minute show.

Did I watch all six episodes? Maybe. I mean, I was reading the complete works of Heinrich Heine and listening to Bob Seger and writing this review while occasionally glancing up and seeing some stupid scene with some British dude who lives in the basement (is it a basement? who cares?) of the two couples.

I think I've said this once before in another review but...I'd pass on this.
