Ballet & time travel, what more do you need?
stresslessshopping5 August 2018
When you are tired of superhero action or dark British crime stories and need something light yet engaging... I happened on this series while recovering from knee replacement. I had watch 100s of hours of streaming. This show was refreshing. I binged it in a weekend. Lots of fine young actors and dancers. Paris as the backdrop -fabu. It's not for everyone, but suited me just fine.

What in the...?
nessieberry24 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This show is so unbelievably preposterous and silly that I can't even. My teenage son and I decided we had to watch the first episode because the synopsis was so outlandish. I wish I could see the pitch meeting for this. A Russian princess accidentally Time travels to 2018 where she is able to join the same dance school and has to blend in because 3 teenage-age steam punk are chasing her. You can't make this stuff up. I need to know how this got made. Was it a HS project that won some weird competition? Highlights so far: -graphics in the time portal are hilarious -episode 5 when the steampunk kids go through the portal is so overacted and amazing. -all the hip hop is so incredibly bad and the dance odds and parties have maybe 20 people and are so painfully uncool that it's hillarious.

Love this show
tiffanykailis26 September 2018
My husband and I love this show-Our 8 year old son likes it but not as much as us lol. We do love the time travel theme too. The young cast are superb! Love the quirkiness. We cannot wait for each episode. Hoping season 2 comes quick. A very sweet show-very refreshing. The Paris backdrop also enhances our viewing pleasure. I am writing this because i read some very negative comments that i simply COULD NOT AGREE WITH! WE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!

Ballet & Time Travel
francofever20 May 2019
At first, my 12 year old daughter asked me to watch the show with her. From her description, it sounded silly.Of course, I watched it anyway to spend time with her. To my suprise, I absolutely love it. I have been binge watching it with her. I am already looking foward to Season 2 and I am on Episode 21. The only thing that i can complain about is the hip hop dancing. The characters are very well played. I actually found myself yelling at Thea a dozen times. Whoever thought that a Russian princess, ballet, and tme travel would make for such a wonderful show.

Why so many people love Max?
sasukedaisuke19 October 2019
It's a good show, although I don't like the main character Lena (neither Max or Ines). I watch it mainly for Thea, Jeff and Frank. I think that Henri attempts to bring Lena back should be forgotten, this show would be also good if the plot focus only on the dance school.

Okay show except for the "time collectors"
mccartneyml5 September 2018
Time travel shows have been done so much, I imagine it is hard to come up with something new. That being said, I think the show is quirky and interesting. It almost feels like a fresh take on time travel, but the "time collectors" irritate me so much l almost want to quit watching it.

Basically, there are three stooges who are supposed to be protecting the timeline, but they are ridiculous. They don't know what they are doing, they aren't armed or physically threatening in any way, they dont seem to answer to anyone or follow any rules, and they never accomplish anything because they get distracted with stupid shenanigans. Get them off the show and maybe I'll come back for season 2.

Good show apart from "time collectors"
joey-welters29 November 2020
I really liked this show. Its really great for some light and fun binge watching. I love the time travel theme but the only thing I really disliked were the time collectors. I didnt feel them at all and could not take that seriously, really bad acting. If the time collectors were a better element in the serie I would rate it higher.

Season one & two were okay-ish but the third season is horrible.
teammichalleann25 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Find Me In Paris is ultimately not a good show.

There is no swearing, or anything inappropriate. However the plot is cheesy and frankly unrealistic. Also the shows upholds male-dependent views and the main character is spoilt and self-centered. Everything that happens is cliche and it is boring.

1. In season three they start this whole new plot with the four heirs and someone is "the chosen one". Oh we all know who this is, Lena. Of course. Instead of making it Lena, why not it be Frank? Or Nico. The Chosen One being Lena is very cliche.

2. For all you people shipping Max and Lena, I suggest you don't watch this season. Max leaves and "goes to NY for choreographing" Instead of giving this MAJOR character a proper goodbye to his girlfriend. They have him write a letter. A LETTER! So we all know what this means, Lena ends up with Henri and they end the show together in the most cheesy and disgusting way. This is very unrealistic, considering Lena cheated on Henri with Max multiple times. And she has the audacity to shun Henri harshly when Claudine (yes she's back) kisses Henri on the cheek. This shows Lena is self-centered, spoiled, and disgusting honestly.

3. When Nico erases Lena's memories and Max leaves her, she becomes depressed and doesn't want to do anything else. She doesn't have a dance partner anymore so she lines up people to audition to be her dance partner. She even tries to steal other people's partners because she is male-dependent. We have seen this from Lena all throughout the show but it really comes to the fore in season three. This is not a good characteristic to portray to young girls, they will grow up believing that boys are the answer to all their problems. Which is of course, not true.

5. The team also made some very, I will be blunt, stupid decisions with their casting. We see that Thea and Max leave. Max leaves horribly and sends Lena a letter which doesn't mention that he saw his friends step through a portal and someone disappear into thin air. Max was a very crucial part to the show and should have been replaced not written out. A cost-cutting decision, I presume, and they do that again with Thea. She leaves to go on tour as an e toile in 1905. However, the bureau didn't catch her? They were scrutinizing her all this time. It was again unrealistic, and cost-cutting. Instead of hiring another actor they cut her out. The team of FMIP's cost-cutting measures have really hit the show hard, which sowed very well in season three.

6. Romy is introduced as Lena's half sister. This adds yet another line of fluff to the show which wasn't needed. Romy adds absolutely nothing to the show but a waste of minutes. Two of the episodes aren't even worth watching, simply b/c of this. If they wanted this girl to be a major part of the show, why not weave it through the first two seasons. Honestly most of what happens in season three, makes you question the other two seasons. Frankly, you can just watch season three without watching the other two seasons and you'll understand it perfectly.

7. Pinky also leaves the show very strangely, you think he's coming back but he simply writes a letter to Frank and walks off into the distance. Also Clive and Jenna disappear in the middle of the season. Although for Jenna, they did come up with a good reason, being cut. For Clive, he simply said "I'm going back in time to ride the dinosaurs." And never returns. Frank doesn't weep, nor show any emotions. For Pete's sake he doesn't even ask if he's okay or where he is. Quick change from seeing him be deleted and crying out to the sky. I suppose we assume the dinosaurs ate him?

8. We all know the ballet dancing his covered mostly by doubles, bur for heaven's sake at least make their races match up! In one episode we see a caucasian dancer in place of Isaac. Seriously? Can they not have an African American take his place. It looks totally unrealistic and we can see it plainly.

9. The hip-hop dancing has also gotten worse of the past two seasons. It was okay in season one. However, we do see Lena making suggestive body movement and they teach that it's okay to break the rules and have fun b/c int he end it will reward you. Which is not always true. Also, side note, since when do people raised in Paris have english accents? Especially a "Russian" princess. The show is also completely inaccurate with history, Russia wouldn't have been so friendly with France at the time.

This show is not innocent and fun. It upholds all the wrong messages and encourages children, especially girls, that males are the answer to all their problems and if they don't have one they must feel depressed and sad.

Greatest lovely series prepare to blend in
drkavint28 December 2018
Please consider those who gave negative review for this series as BLIND...this will become one of ur all time favourite ,only if u finish watching 5 to 6 episodes.....you can guess the story and plot, but what keeps you hooked is that in few episodes u blend into the series...after 15 episodes i started binge watching, i totally forgotten that iam watching on my big tv rather felt iam watching it live..... This feeling hardly occurs to tv series and more felt in sports watching becaise u blend in with game and players... Here take my word u will start loving all the characters and will blend in after few episodes...

It's underrated, but I wouldn't watch it again.

Warning: Spoilers
If you not only like action, but also like good writing, this is a good show for you! Even though there are many things where I thought "why that again" or "why did they do that" I think its an solid written show with an complex and simple plot. To be honest I liked the show more at the beginning and I didnt like the switch between Max and Nico. I didn't really understand it. And the plot was a bit shaky at times. From getting a timepiece from a boyfriend to get to the year 2018 inadvertently to being the choosen one and fighting against the bereau? Why just not getting back to 1905 and live your normal live with Henri again? But the 1st season was a proper season to be fair. It was simple and didn't really have much mistakes. Overall the writers did an solid job. 7/10.

Unsettlingly bad.

The cinematography as a whole just gives me bad vibes. The whole show is shot like the director makes arthritis medication commercials on the side.

Brilliant
deenamhooper1 June 2019
I loved each and every episode of this show. It has a sweet storyline that includes lessons in family, love, and friendship. It has the perfect amount of comedy, drama, and intrigue. The show can appeal to young and old audiences with its mix of classical ballet and modern hip-hop dance. I think it's perfect for the whole family. I just wish there would be a second season. Brava Hulu.

ebonyblancimages-400-4828427 September 2020
Then you'll love this show. The time travel stuff seems a bit quirky and oddly placed at first but it adds a new level of fun. I love this show. It was actually more fun and less cringie than Dance academy

Good without the ridiculous "Time Keepers"
lcoffey-212632 September 2019
This series is done pretty well with the exception of the flamboyant and totally extra "Time Keeper" characters. The whole series could do without them altogether. Why are they teenagers dressed like magicians? Villains are not always necessary. Other than those unnecessary characters, the show is great for comparing social aspects of the time periods. Great dance as well.

Ok moments, but overall frustrating
ioryf16 February 2020
I started this show thinking it would be a cute and funny show with some cool takes on time travel. The show doesn't live up to the trailers or the good reviews or anything. It's just disappointing. There are moments where you want to keep watching to find out what happens to the characters but it's so frustrating and hard to get through. Each episode feels like a melodrama. The dance class gets an assignment or they want to do this underground dance thing but something goes wrong or one of them can't get it. After watching a whole first season with 26 episodes then having the second season be the sane thing practically is just boring and makes me dislike the characters. The characters themselves are not really likable to begin with though. They constantly seem to treat each other badly, whine about something then hate when they get it, overreact to a lot of things, etc... The only parts worth watching for me were the time travel elements. It felt kind of like a unrealistic and humorous take. It gave me a bit of Doctor Who vibes on occasion. I kept trying to watch just for that alone and to see what would happen with Henri, who I did like, or the time collectors and bureau. However, I couldn't get over the unnecessary drama and whining the characters always seemed to do. It feels like a very bad version of Dance Academy with time travel and that show wasn't even 10/10 either mine you. Would not recommend this show. It's not worth it in the end

Ten Star Actress In A Four-Star Show
newmediatalent19 August 2019
Even without female lead Jessica Lord, Find Me In Paris is solid enough to attract a large audience, including me, but with her, the experience is memorable. Ten minutes into the first episode, she was far out in front of both the writing and a cast hired more for its dance ability than its acting chops. Her coworkers will flood television for decades, but Lord is on a fast track to a big-budget, A-list feature. She checks literally every box: young, blond, pretty (even "hot"), can cry on cue like a soap-opera queen, and convey an innocence which suggests blissful unawareness that Center Stage, Kate & Leopold, Back To The Future, and Time After Time were pulverized in a Cuisinart to yield this show.

We have a time-traveling (Back To The Future) ballerina (Center Stage), separated by more than a century from her boyfriend (Kate & Leopold), and chased by psychotic Brit criminals (Time After Time). The story literally writes itself, but is humorously executed. Massive scenery is chewed. The only reason this works is Jessica Lord being talented enough to convince us not to root against Helena, and the bad guys adhering to their own rigorously moral code as much as the "good guys" try, and fail, to adhere to theirs.

Some of the dance scenes are phenomenal, though it has that "Empire" feeling to it in that the fictional verdict on the content is stronger than its real-world counterparts.

So painful to watch
maggibillingsviolin11 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Just finished season 3. I love Paris, I love dance, and I love time travel, so I should love this show, right? Wrong.

Season 1 problems: 1. The time collectors. Has anyone done a video montage of the time collectors just chasing people? I'm pretty sure that's all they did all season, along with overacting and being over the top silly or dramatic. 2. Thea and the minions. The whole "here's a crew of mean girls with no depth who just care about being above everyone else" trope is SO tired and overdone. Let's leave mean, prissy, popular girls back in 2004.

Season 2: 1. Lex. This girl. I'm sure a big part of the problem is the writing, but I felt like every scene with her in it was cringeworthy. She was trying SO hard to be a villain.

Season 3: WHERE DO I EVEN START? 1. So Max just left? We see nothing of him past when he watched his friends go through a portal, and then we find out (not see, *find out*) that he left a letter for Lena, and just bounced? I don't buy it. It feels like the actor decided to leave the show unexpectedly and the writers/producers were too cheap to transition him out smoothly. 2. Thea/Frank, Ines/Pinky. Both couples sort of break up, but also leave room to get back together, and somehow Ines and Frank get together instead? That felt so awkward and forced. Ines doesn't need a man. Not everyone has to be part of a couple. Don't cram romance into a show where it doesn't fit. 3. Oh yea, by the way, Jeff and Isaac are dating! They set this up in season 2, and then zero mention of it until like halfway through season 3 when Isaac is like, "I thought I was your boyfriend!". Well you could have let the viewers know sooner instead of having them just act like bros for half a season. 3. Lena ends up with Henri?? Okay, what? Am I the only one who didn't see that coming? They spend two seasons building up her romance with Max. Max leaves and they build up this forbidden romance with Nico. Through all three seasons, I never saw an ounce of chemistry between Lena and Henri. It was like they were together just because that's what they knew from before. They put all this time and effort into showing the tension between Lena and her dance partners, and none into Lena and Henri, but they still end up together? Bleh. I would have rather seen her be single and independent.

So wrong, but if you can overlook the inaccuracies...
icashootnstar1 September 2020
I cringed when there was apparently a baignoire (bathtub) in the hallway of the Opera (I think they meant "toilet".) A chimney hadn't been cleaned in over 100 years, and a main character, who is supposed to be a great dancer, was able to pass as an Amish girl! (The Amish absolutely don't dance.) One of the elite dancers is even "self taught". (Real dancers will get a real kick out of that one.) The show is rife with this kind of obvious misstep that could have been overcome with a little budget directed to even one well-rounded cultural consultant. But if you can overlook the sometimes distractingly glaring errors, and you can go into a brainless entertainment zone and enjoy some frivolous fun, then this show may be for you. I had a hard time doing that (while watching every episode :-))

Pilot was tolerable, then the Mean Girls shenanigans kicked in. Drivel.
hmb-5177820 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The set up, while not exactly wonderful, had some interesting moments. But episode 2 immediately drops you into Z-Grade Mean Girls territory. The actresses chewed and spat out every line like they were trying out for Real Hosefraus of TOWIE. Certainly not Parisian young ladies.

Worse yet was the introduction of the Time Cops. A trio of young men who are, by turns, forgettable and vapid. They looked and acted about as threatening as an after dinner mint.

HARD PASS.

The overly obvious stand ins for the dancers was distracting. Bunheads managed to get actresses who could actually dance on a meager budget.

This would be forgivable if any of the women pretending to dance could do more than pretend to act.

Do not look for any of these folks at the Oscars (unless they're warming a seat for someone else).

Lighthearted and fun.
jexe-511456 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This show made me feel 10 years old again! It's slightly nonsensical but complete fantastic. It has dancing and time travel via beautiful elaborate time pieces. The dancing isn't the most technically adept. However it suits the demographic of the show. Watch with an open mind and youthful eyes. You'll soon find yourself transported to a younger version of yourself.
