Warning: Spoilers
Usually Jim is a bit more subtle with his attacks on the President, but this was the most blunt and direct he has been since the series started. Given his opinion on the protests, I think it made sense for Jim to take this approach. His commentary was strong tonight, but the guest was a little boring. That was probably my only complaint with the episode.

Jim once again conflates two unrelated isses

Warning: Spoilers
Jim jumped the shark fully with this one. Where is Trump's position on concussions? The handful of NFL players making fools of themselves kneeling are not doing so for concussions, in fact some of the most prominent NFL players working to hold the NFL accountable on concussions and health issues are opposed to the "kneelers." The Kneelers are employees using employer time to promoted a debunked and racist BLM narrative The BLM narrative is that because African Americans males age 15-55 are 6% of the US population, but 24% of people shot by police that this shows an inherent bias by police. Not mentioned is this demographic cohort is 6% of the population and commits 37% of shootings and stabbings of police; 36% of murder of police;40% of all us violent felonies, and 48% of all US murder (2016 FBI UCR), and 50% of all US shootings.

Several of the people the NFL kneelers have mentioned as not committing any crime when stopped or speeding etc, and therefore having "no reason" or "no motive" "to resist" had long lists of wants and warrants for prior crimes, meaning if they had been apprehended they would have spent 5, 10 or 20 years in prison -- meaning in fact they had every reason to violently resist.

These players get enormous and profitable leverage from their employment. they make huge amounts endorsing products and services and like anyone are free to engage in any kind of opinion, political or otherwise off of work. But like ANY employee or contract worker, they are not allowed to just do as they please during work, which includes everything they do once they enter the stadium. The national anthem during the games s a specific honoring of serving military personnel, casualties and veterans For these millionaire players to be hijacking it is wrong in every way, and this would not be "protected speech" in Jims native Australia, Canada or the EU either.
