A near-flawless penultimate episode

Things only get worse for everyone but Samurai. People are so busy pointlessly fighting each other that they don't realise they will all lose regardless.

It's because of Samurai that Gabrielle has been forced against his partners. It's a miserable story because everything has collapsed around him. His dad is dead. His two friends hate him. The three men who just two episodes ago collaborated to get the Ostia land are now fighting each other. It's because Gabrielle was naive enough to make all the mistakes that led to this moment that you feel so sorry for him. In the end he's just a boy who has been screwed over multiple times by people who are stronger than him.

Spadino doesn't fare that much better. After Gabrielle's escape things actually go okay for him as he finally gives the middle finger to his family. He escapes his family and meets up with Aureliano, to... get rejected in disgust after going in for a kiss. His mood changes in an instant, from ecstasy to depression. Aureliano's instinctive disgusted response is later regretted. Presumably, he'll make up. Whatever happens, it looks like the only way they'll be able to get the Ostia land is to kill Samurai.

The climax is thrilling. The moment when Livia shows up at Isabel's asking where Aureliano is is the moment you realise the meeting at the gym is a setup. In the most intense scene, Manfredi and Aureliano battle it out. Their fight is basically pointless and will achieve nothing. When Manfredi dies, even though he's a nasty piece of work who's easy to say goodbye to, there's a bitter taste as this warring between families ignores the man at the centre of it all: Samurai.
