Katy Keene really did come along at the perfect time.
As a jaded New Yorker, I initially scoffed at the Riverdale spinoff’s dreamy, anything-is-possible depiction of the Big Apple, forgetting that I myself once shared Katy’s plucky optimism — albeit accompanied by a far less impressive wardrobe. From its very first episode, set to the thumping bass of Taylor Swift’s “Welcome to New York,” the CW drama has remained unapologetically hopeful, a welcome escape from the realities of, well, reality.

Conan O’Brien has been hosting late night television for 25 years, first with “Late Night” (1993-2009) and then a brief run on “The Tonight Show” followed by TBS’s “Conan.” With so many years of programming and thousands of interviews conducted, one guest still stands out among the rest as the worst interview of O’Brien’s television career. The late night host recently appeared on Dax Shepherd’s podcast and instantly named controversial director Abel Ferrara as his worst interview guest.
“He came on camera against his will,” O’Brien said. “And then came out, and I think he started yelling at me.”
O’Brien said Ferrara ran out of the NBC building in New York City shortly before he was set to appear on “Late Night.” Staff members working on the show had to bring Ferrara back to tape his scheduled appearance, and O’Brien estimates the director was intoxicated throughout the discussion.

Controversial director Abel Ferrara has blasted and confounded cinema-goers in the past with challenging but breathtaking works. His films chart religious/psychological battles with the degeneration of corrupt societies, cultures and characters, via acts of extreme violence and sexual depravity.
Ferrara’s body includes: Bad Lieutenant, King of New York, Ms. 45 and The Driller Killer. All provocative, divisive yet astounding works, widely considered cult classics. His recent two films to be released in the UK (Welcome To New York and Pasolini) are among the Bronx director’s best, revealing an artist bravely embracing new styles and concepts into his career winter years, while refusing to blunt the edge that makes his work so intoxicating.
Heyuguys caught up with Ferrara recently to talk about The Addiction. This black and white, mid-nineties allegorical vampire parable starring Lili Taylor, Christopher Walken and Annabella Sciorra, which is about to make its UK Blu-ray/ 4K restoration debut from Arrow Video.

Apparently a Mumbai resident Harjeet Singh has filed a complaint against Diljit, lyricist Danish Sabri and music composer Sajid-Wajid for obscenity. Wajid, one-half of the composing duo Sajid-Wajid sounds genuinely stunned by the allegations. "Mera tashan…Pant Mein Gun…this was my brother Sajid's catchphrase and we used it to create a climactic song sequence for Diljit Dosanjh who plays a guy with a do-or-die chance to perform on stage. Vulgarity ka toh koi sawaal hi nahin hai.
