Murdoch works to solve the mystery of a woman who dies on the operating table during an attempted organ transplant in an environment of Christian Scientists who abhor medical intervention. Unfortunately, that particular aspect of the story could have been more satisfyingly completed in half of the actual episode time, as way too much screen time is given to Julia wanting to recruit women to medical school, Julia wanting to advance studies in women's infertility, and Julia trying to get a new series character to join her as Coroner's assistant (on the bright side, the actress looks like she will be a wonderful replacement for the bland Rebecca). It all just took away from the solving of the mystery and made the ending seem painfully far away. We do learn why Julia was out of town at the end of last season though - which will set up another Julia-intensive story arc that affects the Murdoch family.
On the lighter side, young Constable Brakenreid joins his father at Station 4 (much to his mother's displeasure) and George takes the rookie under his wing.
