Wow

The imagery is beautiful and I could just watch that, but you added indigenous and scientific stories very powerful. I challenge anyone who sees this movie not want to go to the Atacama desert

Painfully Boring.

The most boring documentary I have ever seen. The questions that were asked were flaky and pointless. Very disappointing.

Great film!

Cielo is a beautiful film. It is inspiring, relaxing and breathtaking. The combination of characters and the images of the sky leaves you wanting to explore Chile and the Atacama desert.

If you've never gazed upon a stary sky, go watch this "cinematic reverie"

Ciello is a beautifully shot, wonderfully strange, preciously portrayed collection of perspectives held by those who appreciate the beauty and wonder of the sky like no city-dweller can. The quiet moments were the best moments. Leaving me to ponder all there is to fear and all there is to cherish from the infinite unknowns of the universe.

My favorite conversation of all the ones shown was between the two algae collectors in Los Pozos, Huasco.

An Ode to the Sky
tanq-0885130 December 2021
It is, quite simply, a love letter to the sky. Beautifully filmed, with a narration that borders on the hypnotic, it is not so much a story as it is an ode. It is a testament to the stillness of self as the cosmos rages towards a new beginning. A stunning work.

Beautiful

A viewpoint into a part of the world I knew very little about, with insightful narration to accompany some of the most striking shots i've seen on film.

Poetic and fascinating as it blurs the boundaries between worlds

CIELO's sweeping images of the Chilean sky are among the most breathtaking I've ever seen anywhere. A poetic contemplation on the human sky's presence, the film honors the rare beings who live in response to her vast expanse. I was reluctant to leave this blended world of curious scientists and indigenous spirituality.

Stunning

I loved Cielo, so much so, I watched it twice. It's a visually stunning documentary of the Chilean Atacama Desert night sky with all its starry splendor. This unusual documentary explores our relationship to the magnificent infinite as we listen to storytelling and scientific inquiry with local farmers and astronomers. Sitting in my arm chair, thousands of miles away from the splendor of the night sky in Chile, I felt a visceral sense of wonder at the sheer beauty of our universe. Thank you Alison McAlpine (director) for this gem of a movie.

Heavens above! I was let down.

All those 10 star reviews must be from relatives because this documentary is not that good. Why on earth would I wanna watch people feeding their dogs or cutting up chicken or me watching them looking at the sky? I came here to see the sky, the cielo, the beautiful stars above. This film waste my time on terrestrial matters for half of its short runtime. I was bored and cannot recommend this highly rated documentary. Just go outside and look up ... you'll have a better time. What little sky you actually see is nice but there's just not enough of it. There are some interviews that pose some good questions but please share the sky photograpy while you pose those questions not the inside of some office in an observatory or at your Chilean desert dwelling. There's too much daytime photograpy and not enough night sky for this reviewer!

Hard pass!
