Good idea and that's it
cariaszimm17 August 2020
Basically, this movie has good idea, and that's about it. Acting is bad, effects are bad, sound/music is bad, and even the story is bad. There are few pretty obvious mistakes as well - for example, blue race of people from different reality should be all blue right? Well at few scenes you can clearly see human skin color when clothes lift up.

I wouldn't recomend this movie, but would love to see the same idea, done better

Alcoholic Realities: Fragmentary
babyjaguar23 May 2020
This film by Jace Pikard, done at locations around Sydney, Australia. Yes, there some originality with the story. Science, fantasy, timewarping, etc. depending how much alcohol is consumed.

As far as the acting, it's moderately done with some decent make-up effects of the different species in alternate realities. Although the film describes the creatures as another race but it should be probably "species" .

As independent fantastic cinema, Fragmentary is a good stepping stone for other reality-jumping films.

Die Hard Drunk
refordgarry21 August 2020
Convinced they couldn't think up a title till somebody remembered the stepping on broken glass in bare feet scene (ring any bells?) The central idea of the plot in Fragmentary, however is an intriguing one. But the notion that the hero has to get inebriated as a newt to move between parallel worlds is just, plain weird. Wasn't it, incidentally Bran Stark (of Game of Thrones) that invented "warging"? Just a pity that the lead character in this one really did have the charisma of an amphibian.

Nothing but ridiculous plot, bad acting, a terrible script and completely boring. I should have passed. You're welcome.

NOTHING WORTH YOUR TIME HERE
movieguy300016 October 2020
Don't waste your time, another Aussie film with a terrible story with a weak script. Concept could have been pushed further but was wasted. Actors are weak to mediocre, no stand outs. photography looks like film students. Overall well done, its hard making a film but maybe next time study great films to understand story structure and what makes interesting characters and more importantly what is great acting.

From the beginning you can tell this film will be a struggle to get through. Terrible acting, unlikable characters absolute waste of time. Dont believe any of the positive reviews, obviously friends or family of the cast

Waste of time

A mix of Dark and Once Upon a Time that definitely didn't work. I finished the movie with a desire to get in the face of the writers.

A great and Original film and one of the most unique story ideas.

A shining light of creativity and original thinking in a world of remakes , gems like this film shine.

It is a great mix of romance, thriller and drama and a good dose of laughs.Great twists and engaging from start to finish.

one of the most unique films i've had the pleasure of watching.

The cast were perfect and the story was suspensful from start to finish engaging the viewers in A superbly crafted film.

This film is underrated...
gkelley1926 August 2020
While there are some initial signs of the consistencies that plague the movie in the first 15 minutes or so, if you give it a chance, and some leeway, you will find this filmmaker has potential.

Look, there is a lot to be desired here. A few plot points are messy. The special effects are mostly atrocious. Direction is a little odd in places. But the idea is pretty damn good for low budget and the film, overall, kind of - works. It has a certain charm and clearly is made by someone who has a desire to create films.

The acting in the first bit does make it hard to continue, but give it a chance and you will notice that the rest of the acting improves after that and if you let yourself be taken in by the plot, you are likely to enjoy this movie.

Not a blockbuster, but an overall good film.

Exciting film by an incredibly inspiring young artist
steviefischer-4012827 November 2019
Fragmentary is a film like nothing I have seen before. The idea is so unique, it is full of twists and turns that keeps the audience sitting on the edge of their seats. The characters are complex and incorporate a great mixture of comedy, drama, romance and thrills into the film! A great film by an inspiring up and coming film director/writer/actor that will continue to produce fabulous films over the coming years!

Picks up pace 30 mins in
hamish_falick4 June 2020
Slow at first. Spends the first 30 minutes getting to know the characters and then picks up speed real quick. Loved it! The themes in this film felt quite real and left open for a potential sequel.

A little slow in the beginning, but the investment is worth it
BustedHalo21 August 2020
An interesting story, and something different from the garbage/sequels Hollywood pumps out. It comes across like a good episode of The X-Files or The Twilight zone. Can't really say too much more without spoiling it.

A pleasant surprise!
lesliemiles-300994 June 2020
I didn't think I would love this film as much as I did. Yes there is a lot to the story but I really felt for the characters and it got better as the film went along. Well done to all involved on this indie film.

for fans of X-Files/Lost style spooky weirdness
MunkyMovie20 February 2021
This movie had a great ending and a couple good scenes in the middle. Its flirtation with social commentary was hit-and-miss. If you think about it really hard, the treatment of altered states of consciousness was probably irresponsible. But it is more of a genre movie than a serious drama. If you liked the middle seasons of "Lost," it is probably for you.
