Maika Sakuranomiya is a seemingly ordinary high school girl; she has one problem though; when she smiles it looks more scary than friendly. She manages to but this to her advantage though as a friend gets her a job at Café Stile; an establishment where each of the staff has a distinct personality... she is the 'sadist'. She tries being nice to customers but they feel see is being insulting and treating them like dirt... and they love it! The other staff include the blond Italian manager, Dino, who has a crush on the oblivious Maika; Mafuyu, who plays the 'younger sister despite being 21; Miu, the older sister; Hideri, a boy who dresses as a female idol; and Koyo, the chef.
This was a really enjoyable series with plenty of really funny moments and some great characters. Maiku is a good protagonist with an accidentally hilarious character. Over the course of the series Maiku and her friends provide plenty of laughs while the characters still seem real. I like that the characters are more than just the stereotypes they play at the café; away from work they usually see each other as the people they are rather than the parts they play... although Maiku's 'sadistic' smile does sometimes fool them in an amusing way. Overall I'd recommend this to fans of slice of life comedies with an interesting but not too unusual setting.
