Danielle Macdonald and Judy Greer are such a fit for this show. I enjoyed an episode with the style of Easy and it's look at family dynamics but without sex.

A complete story

Unlike other episodes of Easy, this is a fairly complete story. Characters grow. Hypocrisy is explored. It might be a little uncomfortable; how much do any of us really live our values?
It's a treat to see SNL alum Tim Kazurinsky after all these years.

Danielle Macdonald is Featured in Season Two's Best Episode

So much of Easy is preoccupied with rather mundane details in the lives of thirtyish Chicago hipsters. The stories tend to be rather hackneyed and/or underdeveloped. The series is at its best, when it focuses on characters that are either older or younger than that group. In this episode, Danielle Macdonald (who shined as the star of Patti Cake$) plays a privileged teenager that is forced to attend church by her parents as punishment for breaking the house rules. Macdonald gives an understated yet winning performance in her role. What could have been a fairly predictable story has a surprising twist or two that adds meaning and depth to the material.

Warning: Spoilers
I like these series in general because of it's unique view to issues and because it is very realistic and raw, but this episode was just nonesense.
First of all, the fact that an 18-year old can throw away $50,000 to get back at her parents is insane. These people are so privliged and have no clue what is happening outside their little bubble.
Why were the parents so proud of her for throwing away all the money? I just dont get it. She did something so reckless and stupid, and just because now they volunteer at their local shelter, they all feel so good and wholesome.
Feels like an insult to all the less privileged people out there honestly.

Warning: Spoilers
The parents in this episode are so kind and loving and the "punishment" they impose on their self-important daughter is mild and just, but instead of taking it like the grown-up she purports to be, she turns it on them and punishes them. She latches onto ONE passage from the Bible and uses it to exact her revenge on her parents and feels wholly justified and superior in the process without taking into account the hard work and motivation that they exhibited throughout their lives to enable her entitled existence. Rather than considering that perhaps SHE has been enjoying the fruits of their labours a little too much, and cutting back on some of the niceties of her own privileged life, she chooses to deprive and humiliate them. Whatever happened to honouring thy father and thy mother? So far I have been enjoying this series, but this is the one episode I truly despise.
