Steve seems ok he looks out for leeanne but dont know whats going on with her she seems really nice but then she looks stoned or drunk and babbles a lot off the time.

The Fords give us new and refreshing design without losing the flavor of the original! I'm so sick of signature shiplap, excessive outscapes, and big budget makeovers looking just like every other. The late 20th century gave us boring white walls (or builder's blah beige). Fords give us a New White in a pallette of Textures, Shapes, and Shades. It's almost painting in the negative. Leann has highlighted signature style features by paring away the extraneous without destroying the flavor. New, creative features are meant to reinterpret for new perspectives. It is Really Difficult to pull off what this bro/sis team is doing. The Fords are far from the stoner high implied by some. They're great at appearing laid back; I think they have their priorities squared up fine.

OMG, all the speculation about the stars being stoners is nauseating.

Sure, she does tend to paint a lot of things white.

However, this is a great show. The brother does a lot of great things. He stays chill, and yet they adapt as things come up. Also, there is less fake, imbecilic producer-produced drama. Even the Property Bros, every episode has some 'the homeowners are coming by today and I have to talk to them about an unexpected thousand dollars in their million dollar build...'

I hope this mongrel hate doesn't drag this show down. The minute I saw it I thought it was clearly a replacement for Fixer Upper. After 7 or 8 episodes, I think it's clearly better, for a lot of reasons. Hope it survives...

I really don't get this show. I never saw it before tonight and l just watched 4 episodes. In all 4 everything got painted white or tiled white. May as well go buy a new house with basic builder's white paint. I know everyone has their own style but even old staples like Fixer Upper seem to still be using it's original distressed paint , iron work and rustic designs. Tired! IMO the most interesting show is Hometown where the designer will actually adapt to the owner's taste and she and her husband are truly creative...not just bringing in the same accent pieces, furniture and lighting we see in every previous episode. A designer should evolve...not be like ones that used to be on that old disaster Trading Spaces. Doug used brown all the time and Hildy did whatever she could to make your house repugnant, and neither seemed to care about anything but being outrageous.

Restored by the Fords is fresh, interesting and a much needed change of pace on the HGTV network. Love that Leanne is actually a designer. This show features siblings, instead of a married couple, and that is fun to watch too. Excited for Season 2

They start with a house with amazing details and then pull them out. Fireplace tiles, woodwork, amazing windows -- GONE. The worst was that lovely house that was all white. ALL WHITE. Now I assume the homeowners know when they hire these two that they're getting things painted white, And I hope they give permission to take things out that made the house so special. But I just can't watch this much longer. I'm always hoping that there will be an episode that really does embrace the existing home. Also, I wonder why people who love "modern" even buy historic homes to begin with.

The first two I watched had them sledgehammer built ins and knock down walls out of beautiful old craftsmans . Next show they painted a Victorian white and put horrid modern furniture in it. I'm done.

This sister and brother team is fun to watch, fabulous new out of the box design ideas! I am absolutely astounded by the reviews with one star, ignore them this series is great, lots of fabulous ideas, both my husband and I really enjoy this show,

I just watched a show last night that left me stunned. They destroyed the living room in a colonial home. By the time they were finished there was an ultra modern white sofa in the middle of the room, with it's back to the fireplace, and a little cluster of little tables. None of it belonged in the room, and the fireplace no longer belonged in the house with two huge white vases stuffed into the firebox. My best guess is that the couch faced away from the fireplace becasue even the "designer" didn't want to look at a bunch of squares on the wall in a style that does not belong in that house.

I agree with all of the negative comments. This is a sham and an embarrassment to all credible Designers. I am licensed ASID..I have designed the interiors of multi million dollar homes as well as moderately priced homes for 45 years. Shame on HGTV for giving this airtime. And I also noticed they were either drunk or stoned in several scenes. Not funny. They will never be published in Architectural Digest..that is for certain. They havent RESTORED anything. Instead they have DESTROYED..and dont have a clue about architectural history. Get them off the TV. They are enticing more wannabes in the industry. Has HGTV gone crazy ??

So what it seems like they split a spliff before, during and episode- I love how quirky they are and even more so that they don't fit into the cookie cutter couple duo that heads every other HGTV (Fixer Up, every Flip or Flop, etc). Leanne is uber talented and thinks outside of the box that so many of the other hosts seem to pander to ( If I hear "open concept kitchen" one more time I think I'll scream). Steve is also a jack of all trades and despite looking like a stoner, he pulls these projects off skillfully.

Given that not every viewer identifies with the highly dolled up hostesses of other HGTV shows, I hope this show lasts for those who think a remodel show should be about the work and not the outfit of the hostess.

Best show ever! love their personalities and chemistry! they are by far my favourite designers. Hope the continue with the show and I wish I could hire them!

This is by far the worst home renovation show I have ever seen. The second and last show I will ever watch with the Fords - this one having them 'redo' a beautiful Spanish-style villa - resulted in an ALL WHITE result - walls, cabinets, fireplace etc. etc. They even managed to ruin a black wrought iron staircase and turn it into a white sheet rock monstrosity. I would love to see a really genuine reveal on this show where the unlucky homeowners tell them to get the hell out of their house. How did this make it to television?

Can I add that restoring an original house is one way to go with your home. Going with a style that is comfy and warm is another way to go for your home. And designing a home that is really modern and artsy is another way to go. We all get to live differently. There are no rules on what I can do with my home, or on what I like. I like modern art. I LOVE modern art. I love a wild looking garden that is a ton of work. I LOVE OPEN SHELVING and have 20 feet of it in my house. I love modern furniture. Its ok for me to exist and buy things, and love this show.

A lot of reviewers are saying that the modern art vibe is not really design. Its fine for them to say that, but its equally true that they may not like colorblock art, or graffiti in a victorian home, or handloomed rugs that are overdyed. I do.

I love that kind of design. I love my open shelving. And my kids loved it. And its okay. I am deeply grateful that there is a show that is so unique for HGTV. Thank you!

I find this show amazing and not in a good way. While every HGTV show has its own patented look that results in a numbing sameness to the final designs, this one goes further by stripping out the character, painting everything white and adding some uncomfortably modern furniture. But what really is astonishing is the complete lack of storage in the kitchens. Not a single upper cabinet to be seen--just a few open shelves with artfully arranged tchotchkes. A handful of lower cabinets. No pantry. Where do the homeowners put the Cheerios, travel coffee mugs, measuring cups, mismatched mixing bowls, etc? There is absolutely no storage in any of her kitchens! These kitchens are not meant to be used by real people. And I laugh when I see her white canvas paintings on a white wall as "art." This gimmick is repeated in every house. What in the heck is that? It is silly! I've stopped watching this show because I can't stand how unlivable the houses are--what a waste of the homeowners' money. I do think Leanne dresses interestingly but the vibe between her and her brother is downright creepy.

To me, it's refreshing. I absolutely love their designs. Yes, there is a lot of white in the show but it's fine by me.

The comments about them being stoners..does it really matter? How do you know the hosts on the shows you love don't smoke a tree every now and then? The comments about it have been very harsh and judgmental. Shame on you.

I have never had any desire to rate a television show before but Honestly after watching as much as I could of two episodes, I decided to actually sign up to review it.

Drunk, Stoned, or just reeeally playing to someone off camera (hopefully not her brother) these two are a sham. Case in point: The other night, Leanne wasted a decent amount of the viewers' time with some kind of girly nightmare play to compare whites (on a green wall - always a win for finding out the true color of a paint) by dipping one brush into three different shades of white paint - only to find AFTER the commercial break that she had switched paint cans and had to have been (oh my god this is so interesting) proven wrong on that front by her brother. She performs at a level of incompetence that is demeaning to the excellent work of HGTV line ups and actual designers. For our sake don't have them suck up an entire night of programming while we wait for it to end.

Every fricking time I watch this show, it's the same design. Whitewash, black & white, no colour. Every design is also not practical for living. No curtains or blinds, furniture is often white.. It's like a showroom, not a house (that's not a compliment)

I really love this show. I started watching it (on HULU) because it suggested it. I love Property Brothers Buying and Selling and so any home improvement show gets flagged to me. The siblings are, well - how do I say this nicely - eccentric.

She seems to love painting things white and calling that 'modern' and he looks like he JUST stopped smoking a huge bowl just before cameras rolled.

I really want to beat the folks who make her up and the folks who let him constantly look like a homeless person.

But many of the houses are amazing. The lighting fixtures (weather hand blown glass or simply off the shelf bits of art) are universally lovely.

I do find many of her ideas to be WAY too twee for me. But it isn't my house. And one design actually made me tear up - it was so beautiful.

It's a fresh show among some shows that are getting sort of stale. The quality of work isn't perfect and polished but it's not supposed to be. Something for diy'rs and designers to pull some inspiration from. Casual open free. The siblings vibe well and seem like good beer drinking toking folk. I like the style and design of most of the projects and by using similar designs they're able to create a home that's recognizably "ford" I also like that they tackle the exterior and do a fairly comprehensive refresh throughout the home.

Are they drunk or high all the time? They can't put two words together yet alone a historic home.

I love Restored by the Fords. Their design aesthetic is perfect for today's minimalist trend, yet it is far from sparse and boring. Leanne uses textures to create an interesting but clean finish. She thinks outside the box unlike so many other design shows on HGTV, which are cookie cutter designed for the masses. Leanne's style won't appeal to everyone, but is everything that design should be - fresh, innovative and inventive. A designer for right now.

I really loved watching this show. I think they do really elevate the homes and make them social for hanging out and entertaining. Which is what the owners are after. And I also feel that the design is really cool and creative and works also in 2020. I was surprised to see another American show that had cool design and that is fun. Most have really generic and old fashioned solutions and design. I also like Fixer upper and feel that this is quite similar. This being a bit less about their own family, a little edgier design and a bit rougher humour.

I've suffered while watching a few of their shows since they began. First, they look like they are 'high.' Second, they never add square footage and just use the original footprint, which is not exciting. Last, their designs, especially putting a strip of wall paper on the ceiling, are terrible. I watched the reactions and wondered how much they paid individuals/couples to express excitement and joy. Thumbs down!
