"Die neuen Kinder von Golzow" is a documentary, dealing with a syrian refugee family that is placed into an Eastern German village, where some people are rather curious about their new neighbors.
The documentary of course only sheds light on a certain family and therefore can't be taken as a general analysis. Nonetheless, it manages to take a more neutral position and shows both that people are ready to accept new neighbors under certain circumstances and that the political beliefs of refugees can be quite diverse. Generally it depicts how migration can be an enrichment for the communities and how absurd xenophobia really is.
All in all this is a documentary that many Germans should watch in order to gain an understanding of the often generalized refugee families. It makes you question your own values and communities and shows the humans behind the fronts.
