Talpa Studios, the company founded by “The Voice” and “Big Brother” creator John de Mol, has closed further territory sales for quiz-show format “The Floor.” Variety can also reveal that the show has been named by research organization K7 Media as the “Format to Watch” in its “Tracking the Giants” format sales report, which was released Saturday at MipFormats. The recognition is based on the show’s territory sales.
K7 said: “’The Floor’ is the best-selling format in 2023 and early 2024 among all the unscripted formats that were newly created in 2023. Therefore, it’s crowned as ‘The Format to Watch.'” The “Tracking the Giants” report spotlights the top 100 travelling unscripted TV formats of the past year.

Exclusive: The Traitors continued on its path of global domination with 11 territory launches in 2023, unseating The Masked Singer as analysis firm K7’s Format of the Year after four years of domination.
The number of Traitors premieres around the world rose by 57%, with the likes of Spain on HBO Max, Germany and Finland launching new versions, according to K7’s latest Tracking the Giants report, which will be presented at Mip TV today in Cannes.
It is the first time in four years that The Masked Singer hasn’t been the most launched format around the world, with a quieter 2023 for the smash Korean series that is now more established in major territories.
And The Traitors “looks set to further consolidate its rapid ascent up the global format charts” with nine launches coming in 2024, which will bring its total around the world to 30, added K7.

‘The Floor’ is a game show with about 81 candidates and each of these players has a topic assigned for the recordings if that’s not enough, each of these players is subsequently given their subject to be represented by a box on a rather interactive LED floor.
At the beginning of the show, we can expect to see a computer randomly choosing players ‘on the floor’ and the said candidate is then given topics that appear.
Rob Lowe is taking the show as host and producer, and with his spectacular skills, ‘The Floor’ turns out to be quite a catch as contestants from across the globe stand to compete for a whopping $250,000 prize. The only question that lies is, who will conquer The Floor when it debuts midseason?

Austin Butler in Apple TV+’s ‘Masters of the Air’
The 2023-2024 primetime television season looked nothing like previous years, with reruns, unscripted shows, and international imports populating broadcast networks’ lineups. The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, though undeniably justified, took quite a toll on all the networks. Fortunately, the strikes have been settled, production has begun on nearly every new and returning series, and the midseason January lineup hints that things are slowly returning to normal.
Here’s a look at the shows scheduled to launch their new season – or series – premieres in January 2024. NBC’s Chicago shows – Chicago Fire, Med, and P.D. – will kick off new seasons on January 17th, with the Law & Order franchises returning on January 18th. New highly anticipated series debuting in January include Echo, Expats, Masters of the Air, The Brothers Sun, and Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale.

Midseason is the new fall.
As Hollywood and the broader industry continue to recover from the debilitating dual actors and writers strikes, the 2024 television landscape is coming into focus. All of the broadcast networks have set return dates for most of their shows, with the postponed Emmy Awards now set for January 15 and no usual Premiere Week to speak of.
But as series return to production with lower episode counts this truncated season, here again is Deadline’s annual list of premiere dates for new and returning TV series.
The roster covers hundreds of broadcast, cable and streaming programs debuting through 2024, with many listed as Tba as the year kicks off. It includes series and season debuts, shows returning from hiatus and some one-offs such as live sports and awards specials but not movies. The list includes shows that are in limbo for now but are likely to get premiere dates in the coming months.

Fox is the latest network to confirm post-strike return dates, and there are some big shockers.
No, we're not talking about 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 being banished to fall 2024.
We're talking about one of the network's most reliable performers, Family Guy.
The animated hit that has been canceled more than once and returned to much fanfare is on the move.
The Cleaning Lady Season 3: Everything We Know
As revealed Tuesday, the series will move to Wednesdays beginning March 6, 2024, where it will air out of Animal Control.
Both comedies are being paired up with The Masked Singer.
Having Family Guy away from Sunday nights will be different, but perhaps it's a test to see if some of the other Sunday mainstays could be moved to new nights.
It's hard to imagine the move triggering the series' demise.

As Hollywood returns to production following this year’s historic WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Fox has announced winter and spring premiere dates for its returning scripted series including “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” “The Cleaning Lady,” and its latest comedy “Animal Control.”
Also, as part of its midseason rollout, Fox is breaking up its “Animation Domination” stalwarts, moving “Family Guy” to Wednesday — marking the first time it hasn’t aired on Sundays in two decades.
Élodie Yung starrer “The Cleaning Lady” (now in Season 3) and the sophomore season of police procedural “Alert: Missing Persons Unit” officially return on Tuesday, March 5.
Joel McHale sitcom “Animal Control” returns on March 6, landing between new season premieres for “The Masked Singer” and the relocated “Family Guy.”
Fox’s revised Sunday animation lineup kicks off Jan. 7, immediately following the Fox NFL doubleheader with a special preview of the new series “Grimsburg,” starring and executive-produced by Jon Hamm.

For the first time in more than two decades, Family Guy is set to air on a night other than Sunday.
As part of Fox’s midseason schedule, the long-running animated series will move to Wednesday nights beginning March 6. Fox procedural “9-1-1: Lone Star” has been pushed back until Fall 2024, a spokesperson for the network told TheWrap.
As the broadcast networks continue to feel the impact of the Hollywood double strike this summer, the fifth installment of the Rob Lowe-led drama is set to consist of 12 episodes. Despite the rescue show’s success throughout its airing, producing a full season was not possible coming out of the work stoppage, which shut down virtually every ongoing production, according to an individual with knowledge of Season 5 logistics.
As “9-1-1: Lone Star” rolls out its fifth season during the 2024-25 season, it will air alongside new dramas “Doc,” which is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, and John Wells’ “Rescue: Hi-Surf,” which is co-produced by Warner Bros. Television. Both “Doc” and “Rescue: Hi-Surf” were previously pushed to premiere in the 2024 fall season due to residual impacts of the labor dispute.

“9-1-1: Lone Star” Season 5 will not return to Fox until Fall 2024, Variety has confirmed.
According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, the fifth season of the spinoff series will consist of 12 episodes. Fox will use “Lone Star,” it’s highest-rated drama, to launch its new shows “Doc” and “Rescue: Hi-Surf,” both of which were ordered earlier this year but have yet to begin production.
It is the latest production impacted by the writers’ and actors’ strikes that shutdown Hollywood for much of the year. With shows scrambling to get back up and running now that both strikes are settled, a number of series are being pushed to later dates. Most recently, CBS announced premiere dates for several of their scripted shows for midseason, while others are also being pushed to next fall. Those shows will also have abbreviated runs, like “Lone Star.”
But fans of Rob Lowe, who leads the “Lone Star” cast,...

Back in May when only the Writers Guild strike was officially in play, ABC and The CW came out of the gate with “strike-proof” schedules, whereas NBC and CBS were more optimistic, penciling in fresh seasons of their well-watched procedurals and such.
