Genre classification is misleading

This movie is not a thriller but rather a drama. I somewhat enjoyed it, although it was not exciting at all. It bears watching to the end.

One of the better low budget movies
xzaviar444 December 2021
For a low budget movie it kept my interest, dialog was good, plot made sense. By no means stellar performances but not bad.

Has the potential to be remade and tweaked by a major studio into a very good thriller. This was more of a drama.

Boring movie
stunnerman6 July 2021
This movie is really boring and there isn't any plot to talk about in this movie.t was just people winging it. It started off being a really good movie but then it changed and became repetitious.

Riveting Drama

Really loved the acting, story, score, and direction of No Loss // No Gain. It's a bank robbery movie as 12 Angry Men, with all the positives that entails. It's a good watch and one that will leave you thinking too.

Good Dialogue-driven Drama
chrisalfred-2636725 August 2021
Decently produced on a low budget, this is a dialogue-driven movie in the same vein as movies based on plays, such as Glengarry Glen Ross or Doubt. The subject matter is interesting, but the ending is a bit muddled.

Although none of the actors are recognizable, some give great performances- especially Alexandria Payton & Amanda Joy Erickson. If you're into dialogue-driven films/theatre or want to get excited about bank executives being greedy, give it a try.

Micro-budget film that keeps you thinking long after the credits roll...
wookies-n-milk7 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So first off, the direction, photography, acting and general production value are very good especially considering the micro-budget here. Now regarding the story...

*** possible very light spoilers below ***

The title gives you the first clue. No loss, no gain. Hinting at some sort of trade-off at play. And that's exactly what we have on display here. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take back the money from the greedy hands of those tied to shady political campaign funds, exec payoffs, bailouts, etc? To take it back in almost the same fashion, exploiting the same very system that enabled them? What price is there to pay on one's conscience? Does our Robinhood take the guilt and we enjoy the bounty?

These are the questions the film left me seriously pondering. It's a film on morality that at first seems like it might be just another cerebral heist flick. It made me take a step back and think about humanity and what everything in life can really cost us. How much of vengeance can we even own or enjoy? Good film. I'm looking forward to where this director goes from here.
