Don't Believe the Nay-sayers and Boo-hoo-ers

Warning: Spoilers
(Avast, mateys: teeny-tiny spoilers ahead.)

No, this was not the most dynamic of episodes.

Because it wasn't meant to be.

It's a filler episode that explores the characters of the characters Sherlock and Joan's fun tiff which was quietly revealing and funny, but still in character. Marcus and Sherlock's relationship. How Captain Gregson views the pair. Sherlock's awareness of how he's viewed.

I'm binging the show on Hulu so I don't know what's going to happen with Marcus, but the producers are using this episode to deepen our understanding of the cast and their relationship to each other (and probably setting up some stuff for later in the season).

It's not a high-wire act, but it's still a very fun episode.

Left me feeling hazy

On a few occasions during Elementary over the years, there have been episodes that lacked that spark that makes this a highly astute and satisfying, classic tv series. This episode was such an instance. I watched it twice in one day and was left feeling hazy and underwhelmed.

The show as a whole remains a cut above the rest. Shame about the occasional bumps.

Boring!

Zombie cast, absolutely everyone is emotionless, speaks in monotone, no smiles, a very long time since I recall anyone laughing.

What happened to Moriarty?! It's nearing the end of this season...oh, I suppose there will be a real Moriarty cliff hanger on the last episode?! Too late! I'm bailing, and don't care at all if this gets cancelled, because it's obvious the cast doesn't care, either.

Regarding recent plots - pathetic and uninteresting! Isn't this supposed to be a "suspense" show?

What happened to the original writers? The current lot are talentless!

The liberal progressivism is way too strong with this one.
