Molecule Review: Kamuki (3 Stars)
nairtejas20 August 2018
Binu S seems to have created Kamuki without a proper plan in place. Because at one point you have Aparna Balamurali's character wooing a smart colleague (Askar Ali) who is blind since childhood and at other you have what I like to call 'vallipu' comedy involving unnecessary characters. The latter has been added into the film as fillers to create humor but they end up irritating the audience. Balamurali is not much different either as she plays a pretentious character while supporting director Binu's sexist views. Kamuki is filled with sequences that celebrate the male gaze, either through dialogue or direct mentions. There's some comedy relief in parts that helped me complete watching it, thanks to Dain Davis's jolly performance. I strongly believe that Balamurali is going the typecast way while Ali needs to take some acting lessons if he wants to survive in the punishing industry. Kamuki also has a few good points to make, and despite the saturated container it uses, I could agree with them. That the world is not a good place for differently-abled people. TN.

A good family entertaining

It a good family entertainer. All the actors did their part well. A decent storyline and have a good amount of emotions mixed to it.
