Stunning. Wonderful. Vile. Cynical. Deep. Funny. Political. Gross. Amazing. You know how some superhero shows are too kiddie like CW, or too self-satisfied like Kiss-Ass, or too good but inert and trippy like Legion or too popcorn like mainstream superhero stuff? This show somehow finds a balance and while it's nearest cousin might be Titans, The Boys has a deeper real world ugliness that is horrifying. Well done.

Consistently good.

Warning: Spoilers
The demented superhero fun continues as 'The Boys' try to get their mitts on a sample of the performance-enhancing drug used by A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), who is gearing up for a race for the title of The World's Fastest Man.

A third of the way through Season and there's no sign of drop in quality; if anything, it keeps on getting better (ie. more twisted). The plot develops nicely as Starlight (Erin Moriarty) finds herself in another dilemma (will she eventually rebel and join Hughie and friends in bringing down the Seven?), Homelander becomes even more sinister, and A-Train's girlfriend proves to be just another seriously messed up superhero (she features in this episode's bloody highlight where she crushes a man's head with her ass!).

Foul-mouthed, violent, unpredictable, and sexy, this is superhero action for those fed-up with endless family-friendly Marvel and DC films.

Pretty entertaining

We get more insight into the corporation and into the superheroes. Some truths about them are surfacing. Has one really gruesome scene. Yup that was shocking. I still feel like the dialogue isn't i guess the smoothest. I found the funny scenes not that funny.

A lot here

A fine episode again. I liked the investigation aspect of the story mixed with all the other aspects: new team members, sports events, media, crime fighting, sex and of course death. Works very nicely with a lot going on.

"We'll cross that bridge when we burn it"

This episode certianly continues the momentum of the series so far. Despite having less screentime, the highlight has to be Annie's story, and the costume. The scene where the young girl meets Starlight and states "it's your old uniform, but I'm saving up for the new one!" Is quite unsettling, as her naivety contrasts with Annie's awareness of the oversexualised constume. Not quite as good as Ep1 and Ep2, but still throughly enjoyable.

So far so good

The Boys has been popping up for me from the beginning in the form of various memes, or in discussions generally about movies and series, with responses usually being positive. So I gave it a chance yesterday and now I am writing my opinions under episode 3, because I watched 3 episodes in one breath. Yes, the series is quite captivating and good. The action, brutality, humor but mainly the satire so far is excellent and I am curious where it will develop further. I must say, the storyline from the point of view of Starlight is very well processed. I enjoy hating the corporate fools she has to face.

S1.E3 - Delicious Episode [9/10]
panagiotis199320 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
(S1. E3) My Reaction / Review for The Boys Season 1 Episode 3 ''Get Some'': Episode 2 was good and I gave it a rating of 9.2/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. They want Starlight to dress like a sex worker and it sucks, her suit is already really good, she doesn't need a new one. First time we see Mother's Milk, hell yeah. It seems like Homelander is jealous of Madelyn's baby lol. Homelander killed that guy for fun, he is sick in the head. Wow Stalight wears the new suit they made fo her? That sucks. No surprise that A-train used V to win, this guy's whole life is a lie. Overall another great episode, my rating is 9/10.

Really?
LegendaryFang563 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Annie must really, really want to be in the Seven/one of the Seven. Sure, her new costume looks great and all but she preferred her old one more. Not only that, she was subtly threatened into going along with it because she'd no longer be one of the Seven if she didn't. Something even worse than what The Deep did to her has to happen for her to no longer care whether or not she's one of the Seven. I'm just not sure whether that something will happen.

A Cruel Death!
ZegMaarJus11 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode begins with Hughie, he just let Translucent explode. Translucent died after that. Starlight her popularity rises after she has beaten up two guys. Hughie placed cameras in A-Train his appartment. Homelander kills the Swat Captain with his hand. A-Train has a race today against Shock Wave. A-Train won the race. Popclaw killed Aleksy. Nice Episode of The Boys Season 1, again a good episode. With another cruel death!

Decent third episode.

3 out of 5 stars.

The episode continues with the boys trying to surveillance A-Train. But they find a new drug which may enhance their powers.

The story continues. It tries to have that fun direction seeing the boys trying to work together and surveillance A-Train's girlfriend. While Homelander is wanting to find out who was responsible for the disappearance of one of their own.

Warning: Spoilers
It turns out Compound V is some roid for the superheros and A-Train's secret girlfriend gave it to him before the race between him and Shockwave and she's a former superhero.
