When the category is “rich horny teens,” television rarely fails.
From the dawn of “Beverly Hills 90210” to the heyday of “The O.C.” to our current era of “Euphoria” and more, filmmakers are clearly enamored with the lifestyles of the rich, famous, and too-young-to-know-better. Netflix’s latest addition to this glut of raunchy rebellion is “Class,” a Hindi adaptation of the streamer’s Spanish-language original series “Elite” from producer Ashim Ahluwalia.
Set at a wealthy private school in New Delhi, “Class” chronicles the unraveling of a delicately balanced coterie of upperclassmen after the addition of three new scholarship students. Dheeraj (Piyush Khati), Saba (Madhyama Segal), and Balli (Cwaayal Singh) throw Hampton International into freefall, forcing the supercilious student body to face down their most unsettling desires, biases, and foibles. Months after their arrival, a student has been murdered, and everyone is a suspect.

EntertainmentThis is by no means an exhaustive list and is only a starter pack! Tnm StaffMahesh Narayanan's C U Soon, released directly on Amazon Prime Video, has been getting rave reviews from viewers. Of special significance is the fact that the film was shot in under 20 days with an iPhone camera and the entire story is told through screens. These factors have piqued the curiosity of viewers and as a consequence, the film has attracted several people who may not have watched a south Indian — let alone Malayalam — film before this. Even film critics who don't usually review south Indian films have been lavish in their praise of C U Soon. Although there are four big film industries in the south, Indian cinema is often equated to Bollywood. Among those who haven't watched south Indian films, there exists a perception that "down south", the films made are all loud, unrealistic and grossly exaggerated.

A trio of world premieres from bankable stars across the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages forms the thrust of streamer Amazon Prime Video India’s push into the country’s lucrative Southern market. It comes at a time when cinemas remain shuttered due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Malayalam-language drama “C U Soon,” starring Fahadh Faasil (“Trance”) bows Sept. 1 on the service, while action thriller “V” headlined by Nani (S.S. Rajamouli’s “Eega”) premieres Sept. 5, and aviation biopic “Soorarai Pottru” starring Suriya (“Singam”) is scheduled for Oct. 30.
Of the giant streamers in India, Amazon was the first to seize the opportunity arising from the enforced shutdown of the theatrical business. It announced the world premieres of “Gulabo Sitabo,” starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana, and “Shakuntala Devi,” starring Vidya Balan as bypassing cinemas.

Dil Bechara (Disney-Hotstar)
Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Sanjana Sanghi
Directed by Mukesh Chhabra
It is very difficult to not get emotional about Dil Bechara, it’s about two dying people in love. Also, and more importantly, the film’s hero, a true hero if ever there was one, left us before the film could be released.
There is no denying the fact that the emotions connected to the experience of watching the film overlap dangerously with our feelings about the real-life tragedy that underlines the onscreen goings-on. And to watch Sushant dying in the film, asking his best friend(Sahil Vaid), ‘Will you miss me?’ from the deathbed is beyond ominous.
For us watching the film after its leading man’s death a month ago, Dil Bechara is more than a film. It is a warm, affectionate, cute and cuddly send-off to an actor who had so much to give.

Manny's grandmother speaks to him briefly in Tamil but there isn't much else to suggest that Manny is a Tamilian. However, his love for Rajinikanth is quite clearly on display. In fact, Manny’s introduction in Dil Bechara is him grooving to the iconic music that comes with the...

EntertainmentIn an interview, Rahman said that he does not say no to good movies, but that a gang is working against him in Bollywood.Tnm StaffMusic maestro Ar Rahman has been composing music across film industries, including Bollywood, for many years. While he has been mostly composing music for Tamil movies, Rahman's latest album is for the Sushant Singh Rajput film Dil Bechara. In an interview with Radio Mirchi’s Rj Suren during a special show, when asked why he doesn’t compose music for more Bollywood movies, he reportedly said that rumours have been spread about him. “I don’t say no to good movies, but I think there is a gang, which, due to misunderstandings, is spreading some false rumours,” Rahman said. During the interaction, he also reportedly spoke about the music he has composed for other Bollywood movies including Tamasha, Rockstar, Dil Se and Guru. Film review Sushant Singh Rajput as Manny is lovable in his role of a charming, flirty, happy-go-lucky guy in ‘Dil Bechara.’Geetika MantriStill: Dil BecharaWatching Dil Bechara is a bittersweet feeling. Sweet, because Sushant Singh Rajput, holds his own as he did throughout his tragically brief stint in Bollywood and makes you smile with his cutesy and goofy ways in the film. And bitter, because this feeling is followed soon by a reminder of his demise and that he won’t be seen on the big screen again. Before the Mukesh Chhabra film actually begins, we see a black and white clip of Sushant – who died reportedly by suicide at his apartment in Mumbai on June 14, 2020 – playing the guitar, looking happy and smiling. A quote from Sushant appears below it, reading, “Perhaps, the difference between what is miserable, and that which is spectacular, lies in the leap of faith.” And as the film ends,...

I suspect at least parts of ‘Dil Bechara’ play out better than ‘The Fault In Our Stars’, because this corny-sentimental register is something our cinema owns like a pro. (Rahman's delicious soundtrack is icing on the gooey cake.)

Bollywood Curiously, Kangana, who has never worked with Sushant and was not in his close friends’ circle, has been the most vocal about the suicide.Sowmya RajendranOver a month since actor Sushant Singh Rajput took his life in his Bandra home in Mumbai, the controversy regarding his death has snowballed into nothing short of a war in Bollywood. Curiously, actor Kangana Ranaut, who has never worked with Sushant and was not in his close friends’ circle, has been the most vocal about the suicide. Kangana, who on Koffee With Karan famously slammed Karan Johar for promoting nepotism in Bollywood, has been leading a campaign against 'unfair practices' in the film industry. Though the actor does not have a handle of her own on Twitter, and her sister and manager Rangoli Chandel's account was deactivated on the social media platform for communal remarks, her views are being posted by a 'fan'...

The music album of Mukesh Chhabra’s Dil Bechara has been winning the hearts of listeners and its tracks are trending on social media. Another gem from A. R. Rahman’s latest album, ‘Khulke Jeene Ka’ is out now!
Written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and sung by the country’s favourite singer, Arijit Singh and talented singer, Shashaa Tirupati, ‘Khulke Jeene Ka’ has been adapted from Rahman’s unreleased Tamil track Kannil Oru Thali. About the celebration of life and its ups and downs, the song that has been rendered in harmony. It is dreamy in a very “Disney-ish” way. Peppered with a few millennial references, the lilting melody is the mantra of living life to the fullest.
Says singer Shashaa Tirupati, “Singing for A. R. Rahman for such a special film was exciting and surreal. The other thrill was that of co-singing with Arijit Singh, whom I admire for his versatility.
